Well.. ok who is going to run it then? we're gonna need a dimension limit of course.. Just for scaling.

Maybe someone wants to do the kitchen, or outdoor areas.. hallways...

We're also going to need a compile bitch, and someone to assemble all the parts and pieces.

OR.. we can make up a layout.. have people pick which area in the 'mansion' they want to live in, and just make it so the assembler doesn't have to choose.

I don't know.

But i'll start on mine i guess.

Don't go overboard with detail, and if you do, hint brush the room :)

It's original. I like how this feels like it's a really old stained comic printed on actual paper. Not that fancy glossy stuff.

I do feel, however, that if you're going to actually do this. Each individual comic should have more content. Not just episodic one-liners with lead-in cliffhangers.

BUT

I like.
Very much so.

in entities Post #238536
Well there are 2 typed of entities.
Brushed based and point based.
A brush based entity is.. well a brush that is turned into an entity using the tie to entity tool (Ctrl + T)
A point based entity is just an entity created using the entity tool.

Examples: Brush based entity: func_buyzone, func wall, func ladder..

Point based: Monster_generic, weapon_crowbar, light

And if you're too lazy to click the link:
FGD: halflife.fgd is a kind of intermediary between the editor and the game engine. It stores information about available entities, their properties and flags, and how they look in WorldCraft.

in Survey: Violence and videogames. Post #238378
AGE : 19
CHILDREN - No
LOCATION: CT, USA

GAMES: I play First person shooters, adventure games (sonic adventure) Real time strategy games, solitaire occasionally. Total, approximately 12-18 hours a week.

OTHER HOBBIES: Most of the time i'm not writing a paper or working or playing video-games.. i'm playing guitar. I put about 22 hours a week on my Guitar. :)

AGGRESSIVE: When i have to be. I've been in a few fights, but that's out of defense. Overall i'm a pacifist, i try to avoid conflicts.

DO I AGREE WITH ESRB: No not really. If a 10 year old wants to play grand theft auto, he's gonna play it, and his parent, or older person, will just purchase the game for the kid. If anything it's hurting the Gaming Economy by preventing underage kids (who just want to shoot stuff virtually) from purchasing said games.

IF I HAVE A KID: I'll let him play whatever he wants because that's how i was brought up and i turned out fine. It's the kids upbringing, not video-games, that determine what happens to said child.

DID MY GUARDIANS REGULATE GAMING: As mentioned previously, no. I was allowed to play doom when i was 8. Scared the shit out of me, but i played it regardless.

Last note:

Fuck the media. It's hyped bullshit and nobody should actually heed any teen violence shit about video games. Jack Thompson can go suck a nut, and if kids wanna fight, light em fight. They're kids.

Once they get older, They (hopefully) mature and calm down.
Go ahead and quote me, My name's Brett for any references

Jesus Christ.
Who the hell cares if this mod sucks or not. Personally, i found it was a refreshing escape from the regular half life world. I had to replay it a few times because the first time i came up the stairs in the first level i hit the button without seeing what it said.

If you don't like it, don't play it.

Simple as that.

Well my REAL entry is in the vault right now.

The compilator screwed up my rad settings and i , stupidly, submitted the map without testing the final compile.

I guess the bounce setting doesn't work with the compilator.

Idk if anyone has heard of Nexiuz. It uses the quake3 engine and the map files are .maps and the levels are .bsps

Basically i was wondering if it were possible to set up hammer to make Nexiuz maps. I'm stumbling my way thru learning GTKRadient and i would MUCH rather use hammer.

Is it possible to map for Quake3 using hammer?

Should be, and if so, how?

Every time you make a func_train, it should have an origin. (Especially dealing with lasers)
It's good practice, because sometimes you'll get trains that spawn at the map's origin, or rotate on the origin.

Are you using an env_laser or an env_beam?
What's your target set as?
Try placing an info_target with the name of "beam_target" of something similar and setting the laser or beam or laserbeam to target the info_target.

And.. hit alt+P to check for problems before you compile, maybe there's something you've missed.

I also assume you're using func_trains for the laser?
DO your trains have origins?
