Its a Playstation 2 model, pepper.

And I found out the palettes are screwed up, so I'm just going to go and reskin them with the HD textures. Should look a little better than being all crazy and green and black.

This might be harder than I thought...the outtakes_sci one has 20 head submodels...

I am decompiling a few .dol models using Kratisto's MDL Decompiler. When it finishes, I get some SMDs, textures, and the QC. I can open the SMDs with Milkshape fine, but the textures are all weird, turning black and green and having tons of noise, and not the original texture. Is this just an effect of decompiling .dol models, or am I using the wrong tools for the job?

Umm...it links to another level. Hence the changelevel. If youre in subject and enter the changelevel there, itll go to subject_2.

It can't find a directory specified, so its not finding F:gamesSteam...

You misnamed one of the directories or something. Check the spelling and NO SPACES!!!

Use ZHLT!!! And no, it won't affect lag, but ZHLT are better and designed for Half-Life, not Quake.

As for your problem, Hornet, does it give an error whilst compiling? Or does it have a "Cannot Find Map on Server" error when you try and run the map? Give me teh details and I can help you better.

It caches your HL install. It does nothing with your WON install but copy it into Steam's format. It does have tons of updates, but once you've downloaded the initial one, theyre minimal. And you get CS 1.6, with shields (yay I like shields) and improved graphics.

Make sure you have all the Co-op's updates and meet the system requirements, and if you run GL or D3D, have the latest video drivers. I don't have Sven, (but it's on my crowded MOD download queue ;) ), and I think these might solve the problem.

Ah, I was looking at the HL FGD. I don't see anything in the TFC FGD as it seems to me the triggers are aimed at dealing with giving teams/players items, points, etc. Maybe it'd be a good idea to check a TFC entity list and see if there's a flag or something that retriggers everything. I'm not very knowledgable about anything non-engine related about TFC. Sorry.

Hmm...odd, maybe you can't set the bodies. In that Black Mesa Blender map posted a while back it had monstermakers spawning scis that all were glasses, so it might not be a possibility. With a little clever coding you could change that. (and have an entire new mod-ish thing on your hands ;) )

You can create a latch is only openable while the elevator is not moving.
Expanding on what Hazardous! said, You could have a func_rotating that is invisible to start up at the top, then when the elevator gets to the top/bottom it triggers an env_render that makes the fake latch invisible and makes the rotating one visible.

I wadinclude when I release. I dont want to split into all these diff themed WADS because you can only have 8 wads, and I like to keep my CS ones individual so I dont wadinclude ones people already have. Halflife has ~3100 textures, so I might just get rid of my SWAT textures and just use teh other WAD I have of all of them. Thnx. If I do organize, I'll set aside a day for sorting thru my WAD and rename them forest, urban-, vehicle-, door-, and so on.

The wads could be messed. Cstrike has its own versions of bdog and halflife wads, so you might have different versions. Do you have Steam or WON?

Make sure that little "TL" button is on on the toolbar. (hover on it and it says texture lock.) It enables texture lock. Always, always, always leave it on, unless you want misaligned textures.

Otherwise, if you have custom pfabs, someone messed them up.

I have a wad that contains all my custom textures, a few packs I had around, and my Swat3 textures. They total up to 3500 something textures (wow, will I ever need them all?) Is there a limit to how many textures I can place in a WAD, or can I just keep adding them on?

Map-Go To Brush Number....and enter 74 in the entity field. You probably have an invalid prefab, or did something to b0rk a brush entity through vertex manip, even if the ZHLT help files say otherwise. Check for problems in Hammer and see if you have a "Texture Axis Perpendicular to Face" or an "Invalid Solid Structure" error.

Nope, unless you use spirit. (movewith.) You cannot combine entity types in normal editing, so you can't have a func_rotating or whatever on a func_plat or func_train.

I always leave "Hide Mask" on. It still leaves that little texture rotation thingy on though. Only seen it when I undo changes made on textures.

GenSurf is how I do my terrain. It looks really cool in this one tram level I did, though it does increase the poly count somewhat, but that can be adjusted. Ill get some screenies.

and GCFscape needs the NET Framework, also on Nem's site (under GCFscape, its 23mb or something.)

Yeah, its glasses for 0. I was being ignorant and didn't check the entity guide.

-1 aint working? Maybe you are having real bad luck with a monstermaker and just have gotten a huge stream of glasses? :P

No idea why its not working, but if all else fails, make 4 monstermakers, one for each sci body, then trigger them in a random (sorta) order to get each type of sci? Might work, sounds like an awful lot of work for that though.
