ack! check the links page for zoners half life tools. they're much better compiling tools than the ones that come with hammer (they were designed for quake maps!

Well, there are other editors out there, such as Quark or Qradient, but they're not designed for half-life - hammer is easily the best.

The button that works the slime has a value = 1 in it's health property. Make it 0 and the button will work when you push it.

-wadinclude includes all textures, so it's a waste of size if they're in the original.

The wads should be in sierra/half-life/$moddir/ or steamapps/gamedir/$moddir for them to work properly in half-life.

I recommend using GoldWave audio editor (google).
Just open the desired file and "Save as" a 11025khz Mono wav file.

Can't try the map right now, sorry, but the screen shows some promise - could use with more detail though.
As for the HL entities: They're nothing special - the hard part is learning the AI entities such as info_nodes and scripted_sequences.
