Is it possible to include custom wad. files with the bsp.file using hammer's original f9 compile tools? ive tryed but couldnt get it to work, as in, it would say like missing wad. file when id run the map."after id erase the wad. file from my comp to test it and c if itd work"

a little extra time would be helpfull to me too but if i just force myself to finish i could , i mean we have this whole coming weekend thats like 48 hours alone :)... well i also want to ask a ? ive tryed this b4 but couldnt but is it possible to include your wad file in the bsp using hammers original compile tools? i couldnt get it to work...

yea well like i sayed myself im soo busy right now but ill still have plenty of time to make the map in time-well atleast hopefully...anyways thow ive never had a computer good enough to run hl2 little alone hl1 so im making mine in half life... my ideas morphing together slowly so as long as i get it done itl be great:)

last compo was week. We need one that focuses on architecture and ideas like map your own mini mod. that would be awesomeness and a lot of us would be forced to learn crap. and make it for hl1 and 2 or somethin bc heck i dont know if i can even play hl1 on this peice of crap computer.

I didnt like this comp. that much. I wish I was able to enter in previous ones because I am sure I would have had a good chance of winning many of them but ive made so much funny stuff before, I guess im kinda sick of doing it:( I have awesome ideas for a next compo. but I guess i hav to win one first...

yea I agree we need another comp for "hl-1" , I need some inspiration to map somethin... I hate competitions based on scripts etc. and hope that the next one will be based on architecture and ideas. Its kinda dumb too how we have to take turns with source users, just run two at a time like whoever sayed. Do yall just not have any ideas because I have millions.{I wish yall yould do the map something unique one again!}I would win for suuuure! :) :)

Well i got cool edit 2000 so that I could put music into my maps. I opened up a song whith it, made cue points at the beginning and end of it, and saved it as a mono wav file. I than opened up the half life pack and whent into sound/ambience. I copied the new wav. sound file that I made and tryed to paste it into the unpaked polder but it wouldnt work and a message appeared saying "Error Copying C:SIERRAresurrectionwav: Invalid filename" Does anyone know what may have gone wrong? please help. Ive even taken sounds from a mod and some are pasteable into the folder but some arent...?

i dont know, when i link the build programs to my zhl tools,---say if i put a weapon into my map after doing so and than compile it, the gun wont be there and the map will stay the same as last time i compiled it with the hammer tools ? ? ?---thats not why this is happening to my textures thow,,,ive never had a prob like this,--> well i guess ill just keep messin with it, i figured this had happened to someone before but i guess not...

what you mean? as in not using zhlt---they dont work for my comp for some reason...yes i use the good old hammer compile tools:(/my computer is a peace of crap-if i look at an entity it usualy dissapears. but ive never had trouble with textures like this...

i never sayed i mixed them... and yes of corse it looks fine in wally and hammer but "when i compile" it messes up. I know to put scroll b4 the name thats what i sayed i did, and it scrolls but it just looks messed up ...hold on let me get a pic///

I made a texture out of a picture of lava I found on the internet by copying it into paint,resizing than pasting it into wally... It was around 176 by 176 and ive tryed making it smaller and smaller but the error still continues to happen. I first made the texture a scroll texture and put it on a func_conveyor. I also put ! before the name of it to give it the appearance of liquid and it did the same thing...---what it does is/when i compile my map,the texture appears as if i made it as small as it could get and it looks very bad. I dont know why I get this error but some help would be greatly appreciated...? ? ?:(

Heres a tip. Decide a theme that you like.-Get some textures off google or make them that have to do with the theme... Draw a few Ideas/maybe even just one room.///make the room and than go from there :)

Ok so I want to compile my map so that you dont have to deal with the new textures and instead they will simply be compiled with the map. Well if I compile by pushing f9 -a window that I can type in appears. Say if the texture is named stone.wad... do i just type include wad stone.wad or what ?

Well I am almost finished with a halflife deathmatch map and it is pretty big right now about 1.6 mb. There are no leaks but when I test it out the entitys that I created in it go invisible some times if you are not looking directly at them. Also the sky dissapears sometimes and basicaly turns black unless you look straight at it. the map takes literaly like 5 minutes to compile everytime i do so are these problems just prolly because the maps to big"well not so big just kinda complex" or what?

well ok got all that sorted out so far i think... well now 1 problem of course had to pop up... in my map i have a dead scientist on a table and another standing next to him. The one standing is named and i hooked him up to an aiscripted_sequence making him look like hes working on the dead scientist. When i test the map it works fine but than i tryed loading up a lan and changing the map to my map so that i could test it out in multiplayer. Than the scientist standing wasnt there"thow the dead one was"... this happened in another map as well where all of the alive scientists dissapear while playing in multiplayer.. anyone know whats wrong?

thanks a lot... thow that wasnt the problem... i switched my build programs back to the hammer's tools instead of the zhlt's tools and it worked...weird huh?
