um i forgot to ask if its for HL or CS or what, i compiled it using my cs setup and i ran it on cs and i noticed one place on the ground where the texture clips and you get the trails effect. but like if you compile it just to see how its going just set everything to normal execpt VIS put that on fast and i compiled it in no time at all like 5 mins or sumthin

its because its a lame mod.. they could have done so much better with that pos its not funny, what they need is forest like playgrounds and player models that dont look like dummies and be able to go prone and real maps in the forest or sum shit thats not suxors

lol theres a space in the map name it was just dicused on another threat in this forum, other wise tell it not to run game when you compile and just run cs and start a new game with your map, but you cant have spaces in your map name!!!!!!!

well look you dont really need to run game after you compile it take that setting off on the run options and when its done compiling there will be a bsp of where ever you directed it to put finished maps (considering you dont have any errors on the map, it will make a bsp and then throw that in your maps folder in cs (if it aint already there) and go to newgame after starting up cs and look for your map in the dropdown list, and you should be playin your map in no time, but if your not useing zoners tools im not sure if it will still make the bsp, (i think it does even with errors) so dont forget zonerz stuff

does it seem to freeze on vis.exe ? cause it will take a very long time to do this one its like pretty big but i dled it and compiling now, it will say that its not responding when vis is runnin cause it takes alot of cpu 99% and even on this small map im workin on it takes 30 mins to run vis so ill check back in an hour and tell you if it compiled and if you want send you the bsp =D

if it were gonna be cool then you need the plane from 747 and the make it on a track thats going for a building and if all the t's die then the plane stops
if they dont die in 2 mins the plane gets to the building and blows up,put a few ct's in the building with snipers and a smaller plane to get to the 747 if needed, or give the t;s a bomb and 1 sec on the clock if they get to the building they plant and win

ps where can i get that sky your using

its not called cstrike.exe its the hl.exe in your steamappsusercounterstrikehl.exe, i use hammer (3.5 beta) but its all the same since cs is a mod for hl (really) but thats the one your lookin for its just as easy with steam, when you run the map if you have steam runnin it will start cs without a few things though like pistols n such and no team selecting it just starts on the first info_player_start, dont forget to select vis and rad on run options or youll have a laggy map ;P

well im guessing he makes a small custom wad if he releases a map, but i quite like the idea of having one wad especialy if you have it deep in some folder cause you cant scroll over in hammer... well not that i knwo of

i actualy have a question about wads to i downloaded halflife.wad and cs_bdog.wad and threw em in my cstrike folder and now every game i join(in cs) is like tiled and wierd textures... is this because the wad is messed up or are they just old textures or sumthing....

oooohhhhhh well gee wizz everyone makes it sound confusing.... everyone is calling it BRUSH when its a FRIKIN BLOCK TOOL and all i need to do is make a block cieling and put the sky texture on it......... but i so appreciate you guys taking your time to post and helping me get past my block tool in my head..lol im so used to doing stuff in VUE de'sprit where you have all kinds of goodies to play with.. or terragen..... im gonna write a makeing skys for dummies tutorial...

i think alot of ppl only got hl cause they needed a key for steam (as i did) didnt bother wasting the space installing it (again) on my drive... but is it possable to get it fro the CD?? anyways i love the idea bout steam mappin tutorial since a majority plays on steam and have possably gotten rid of won to save space...

ok thanx i found a tourtal on sky stuff as well,((http://cs-maps.jolt.co.uk/index.php?page=skies.htm)) and hopefully i will get it... though i have steam and never installed hl or cs as won install so i had to get the cstrike.wad from a friend, but i dont see a sky texture in there.. im assuming he has the half-life.wad and thats what i need for skys or so it says in the tourtal, dont even know if i can use that without having to send a wad with my map.... cause basicaly i just want to make a very simple map that doesnt use any extra .wads for my first map .... and im assuming that when i was "running" the map all those leak msges were cause of no sky?? i dunno but im a quick learner and with your guys master experties im sure it will all come to me easaly

ok i made my first map..woot.. nuthin bog just a box and a starting point for both teams... i cant figure out how to put sky in... i walked around on the map
but where it was black it did that thing where it trails the other textures, i basicaly need to know that and how to set it up like an fy map also how do place guns on the floor would be nice, and is there anything i need to put in for selecting teams cause when i tested it it just placed me on sum team i guess and i started walkin......
