you dont need an origin brush for func_train's unless you want very precise control over its placement, the engine usually just takes the exact centre of the train (not by mass obviously) based on dimensions alone

The last combo HL SP map I saw was a horrible mess, I don't see the point :

I was, once, I had to go into psychomatherapy because of it. Idling away long, expensive hours spouting what was on my chest to someone who didn't care. It was torture. I really wish people wouldn't call me domo, it's so hurtful.

You have to be making a sound for them to work, and you really REALLY shouldn't put more than one in an area. If they overlap, expect crazy results.

Env_sound is buggy as hell, I try to avoid using it.

Dammit some people with broadband need a 56k stuffed up their arses to learn how impossible it is to use on it. Hours wasted just for the download to crash half way thru. STEAM DOES NOT WORK ON MODEMS, why can't people see this simple fact? My friend and I (both on 56k) tried to get it to work time and time again and couldn't even get a simple game of halflife to run in singleplayer mode.

and its original not orginal too lol OMG I FOUND A TYPO OWNED

in Booleans? Post #4229
NOR - If all false YES, else NO
XOR - If different YES, all other cases NO

I love logic gates, however I will again say you CANT do advanced boolean logic in halflife, despite what entities you use! Easy example, you want something to happen when a player is NOT standing in a field, there really isn't a proper way of doing that.

in Booleans? Post #4199
Halflife has VERY limited boolean logic, usually ON or OFF. Don't expect any proper programming if/then/else logic as halflife (and hl2's from what I know) entity system wasn't designed to do anything.

NinjaGrinch you are the epitomy of ignorance. Steam cannot be used on 56k if you live in the UK, or a country that still thinks a 2 hour maximum connection is a good thing. Max download on 56k per 2 hours is about 35-40 meg, Steam can't resume. The first update just to play HALFLIFE SINGLE PLAYER is about 50 meg, do the math.

Think before you post, theres about 70,000 halflife owners still on 56k that'll need many many hours of downloading just to play their game offline, at least 10 thousand of those will not be able to download the first patch because of the aforementioned d/c time, or the cost of a paid-call isp.

WinBSP simply takes the BSP as it is and tries to convert it to a mappable form, of course its full of leaks and errors. The BSP itself is very different to the rmf/map you create, its 'compiled' in order for the engine to run it efficiently.

No we wouldn't, because it would be crap and somewhat fictional. You can't perfectly decompile bsps, like you can't decompile an exe back into its original source. Also, hammer is a great editor, why use a totally different editor for a pointless, and very questionable, feature?

I wouldn't ask about getting a decompiler here, it's generally frowned upon in the mapping community. If you really want to find out how a map was done, why don't you just ask the author. In most cases I would actually send the source to the person, or the part they were interested in.
