i set it as prop_static but it doesnt appear :zonked:
the draw distances are fine so what prop is this model supposed to be?

all the trees in HL2 are dead lookin.
does anyone know how i can make trees which look nice with leaves and stuff ?
(dont u dare just say a block covered in the leaves decal texture, placed in the tree model)

i made it a prop_physics and it works
(the other modles are sub-models which are created after the primary model breaks)
the only problem now it how the hell do i set its strength cos i want to make it invincible.

i compile it with hammer and it runs hl2 (or whatever) and runs the map.
Ive just tried opening hl2dm nad starting a game with my map and it just boots me out.

(this is the freakin second time ive typed this in)

Read This Annoying Thing:
ok, so your maps huge and ace now, lets test it with no lighing like u normally do.

HL2DM loads up
valve logo. skipped
black screen...
menu appears over black background
(normally at this stage the cursor dissapears then the map loads)
BUT WHATS THIS!?
*cue windows error sound "DING"
Booted straight back to desktop
no explaination, nothing :nuts:

Where the hell does one go from here, well do I;
delete a load of my creation just to find this blasted dodgey thing?
Throw the pc out of the window?
perhaps check my entities?
OKAY
*tests map again
*NO DING - alt,ctrl,del - end task :zonked:

My question is this:
Has anyone else had this freakin problem?
Can anyone explain what crashes maps before they even load?
Do you want to see a log?

i just thought that there might be a special func but if its just fade distance, .. does ther number relate to the distance of the grid in hammer? eg: fade:3 when player is 3 units away model dissapears?

i want a room full of chairs, they dont have to be interactive,
however, i dont want then to slow the maps performance down.
how can i solve this, perhaps fade distance so they arnet visible from a distance?

how do i have the radiator on the wall and then
[upon explosion or grav gun pull]

i dont want the player to run into the radiator and simply knock it off the wall, i want it to be ripped off.

on the last lvl of hl2 the sky has a layer of clouds,
this seems to be a flat brush with a moving texture of clouds on it,
what is the material/texture name?
