Okay with Ants attitude I'm glad I didn't waste my map on this compo and I won't be entering another here ...

Those people who entered those source maps must of put in some effort... and you can't be bothered taking 20 mins to judge them...I think you've just shown how much twhl values its community :tired:

oi the deadline isn't ever up yet .... btw I didn't mind the idea

I spent weeks on my entry but it got to complex so I'm planning on making it into a full singleplayer map instead of just releasing a rushed half-done entry.

Also you can't blame the community, if your obviously not attracting as many people as you would want
Maybe prizes would give people a little more insentive to put effort in. For instance, one thing that put me off entering my map (which I took ages to develop) into your competition was the fact that anyone below 3rd never even gets a mention no matter how well they did

Yeh I think I was to ambitious. If I will release it now it will be a huge waste.

I think I might be more sensible for me to keep working on it and release it as a singleplayer episode in a few weeks :aggrieved:

Maybe I'll whip up a quick entry instead and see how it does

The only reason I need so much longer is the only times I have to map are weekends lol and I made the map to big....well I may just make my entry the equivalent of a demo or something lol :cool:

I think I'm going to have to cut my map in half to get it finshed in time. I went overboard with the mapping and now the entity set ups and texture creations are going to take an eternity to set up : /

I don't think Hl: E is likely. Its a shame really since it was quite a lot of fun playing hl with ragdolls :)

Imagine barney falling from a ledge on the 1st screen hehe

Just use the env_explosion entity instead of the trigger hurts and make a trigger_once which can be triggered by it once it walks through or use a button instead :D

I've done about 40% of the architecture in my map. After I've completed my architecture that I have the easy job of textures and entity work :)

Only problem with my entry is that it uses the hl1 engine which I'm sure will be a big disadvantage in comprision to the source ones :

btw what do you mean a poor turnout, wasn't their like 9 peeps who applied for the previous one :S

Thats good for a competition with no prize, and secondly maybe peeps would be more likely to enter if the people who didn't make the top 3 got a mention at the end, as I'm sure it would be very disappointing to spend all that effort and then get no mention at all

I don't visit this forum much and I feel I have a suggestion as a result.
Sometimes when I visit I find a topic that I can answer so I reply to it. The problem comes when I leave and then revisit the forums later on to check if the person needed any further help only to find I can't find the blasted thread :D

My suggestion is for a list in each members profiles of which threads they have recently responded to. That way you will have no problems responding :lol:

nothing you can do apart from maybe put a 2nd transparent func_wall_toggle with the same name overalapping it. I twould have to have a weak transparency though for the hologram to still look good...hope that helps

I've done this. On trigger of high damage. use the trigger_changetarget to send the apach in the direction you want it to crash and then.. on the way to this path add a trigger_hurt so it explodes in the direction. So should work as you want :D

captain P that is pretty excessive...replacement gibs...... lol

....its a game...nothing more.... and how could u even take the models seriously.... 99% of the people I knew hacked away at the innocent scientists in the game with there crowbar when they found out they didn't have ai good enough to climb over obstacles or through vents and some killed barney for his pistol...although I tended to like keeping them alive as a challenge and lol

oh and btw were you one of those people who thought Janet Jacksons nipple ruined their childrens lives forever and rang into complain to that tv network in America :P
