I am just starting CS:S mapping today, and have a few questions:

1. Is there an equivalent of the "Null" texture from CS 1.6?

2. What exactly are Cubemaps; Can someone give me a very brief, simple explanation of their purpose

3. Hammer is running a bit sluggish; How can I fix this?

4. Any other tips you have for a first-time CSS mapper?

Rage Against The Machine- Killing in the Name

I am sure none of you know me, as this is my first forum post...

My name is Dave, I map for Counter Strike, and am decent at it. I have made around 20 maps now and wish to make a site for my maps, but I cannot find a good freehost that will not have thousands of popups, redirects, or annoying little ads in every frickin frame. Basically, I am wondering if anyone knows of a good webhost that simply will have one little popup or something of that sort. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate a response.

I have already tried all the major webhosts (geocities, etc...)
