all brush based light sources will continue adding light from wherever the brush was placed at the beginning of the map, not where it is crurrently, so in other words, brush based light cant move, at least to my knowledge, you can use smoke and mirrors, based on that the train wont block the light

i cant seem the to make the death of grunts trigger a multi source to trigger the monstermaker, what is the proper way to set up the death of 3 grunts to trigger a monstermaker

and, can i link 2 monster maker total values of monsters released at any given time? i want 2 monster makers to function like one, and not spawn a monster when the player is near, have the other spawn the monster, so the player never sees a monster spawn

so, leaks cause a floodlight map? for somereason that doesnt happen forr me, i clearly had a leak, said so in the compile, and im just wondering why it wasnt fullbright, not that i want it, im just curious.

has anyone ever died by a barnecle? im not talking about, im gonna climb the rope and see how long it takes to die, but you were walking one way, looking another, and went up, and didnt pull out the crowbar fast enough in either the game or a mod?

Well, i found the problem by in 3d mode selecting all the shapes, than cutting, what was left behind was a brush the size of a pixel, where apperantly i clipped 3 lines through. VM would be soooo long to hack the wall in the way that i did

OMGZZ hELpzORZ!!!!

it would suck if i posted the whole message like that

anyways, i was clipping, like really hacking a wall into pieces so when i make an explosion to blast open the wall, it would leave a realistic hole, instead of a perfect square. Unfortunatly, when i set everything to func_breakable and such, a brush line emerged from the wall, 90 degree angle. Ideas to fix it or just general tips to avoid it would be nice

well, i may just be an aborted fetis that later was sent to war in iraq but, i think abortion should be illegal and war never done. Is that good enough for you? as for personal experiance, what does that change? of course you could complain about heart sugeons if you heard about something like high rate of carelessness with tool sterilization

Me and my friend were just checking stuff out, and he wanted to make a pendulam. eventually we wanted the pendulam to move a really short distance realllly fast to throw you, and we set it up with a button to control it. everything worked pretty bad, but the weird thing was when you you used the flashlight on the func_button we made (textured) it would turn black permantly, or so we thought, until we saw a black burn mark on the ceiling. When we put the flashlight on this it disappeared, but the button was no longer black. We than flashlighted the button again, and it turned black again, causing the explosion mark on the ceiling again. I wanted to upload the map, but one thing led to another and before long too much was changed and it didnt work anymore

War is bad? If you look at it at the individual level, it appears bad, nobody wants to go to war, if you look at it on a national level, it appears good by stimulating the economy. WWII ended the great deppression much better than FDR because of all the jobs required. It advances technology, which is than converted to civilian life in gadgets such as this, the internet. No better solution to overpopulation. die for a cause. Lets gather the deppressed emo kids, send them off to war, and instead of them killing themselves they'll kill each other. Words are not better than violance, and violance is not better than words. Words can hurt more than a punch, arguments can last forever (this thread), where as a fight lasts until one group is left standing

I'm working on an obstacle course for hl1 that has waaaayyyy too many pendulams.... pendulams to duck, jump over, climb up, launch, penduelams for more than a big swinging axe. Finishs with a baseball field, press the button, one pendelum 'kicks' you up, the baseball bat pendulam uses you for a home run ball. Has anyone seen something like this before?

searched, but you would be amazed how ineffective searching is on twhl, i searched door, used ctrl f to find door on the page, and yet i couldnt. on multiple forum topics doors werent metioned. no titles stuck out at me, and i dont have the fastest internet speeds, so i do not wish to spend time at loading screens, if you would kindly point me to one of those previous questions, i will kindly thank you

I created a door, and it works fine for a little bit (use only) you can open it from point a to b, then from b back to a, but than it wont open going from a to b again. If i jump through a window, i can go back from b to a over and over again. helpzorz

I carve, alot. I havent run into a problem yet, but i was wondering if it possible to 'un-carve', to take a block and make a wall whole again, to make it go from 4 blocks back to 1 big one. I save frequently, compile before saving, and have a back-up file which i save every now and then. I was just curios if it is possible

I got Lots of nice glass in my level, with nice windows, but when i make 1 big glass entity into 3 smaller ones, each covering a diffrent section of the window (so it leaves a few small shards when it breaks), you can clearly see the sections when playing the map, as blue lines going through the glass. You can't see them straight on, but at an angle they look awful. can anyone help?

Hello, im sorta new, but i have a few questions, looked around, found a few answers, still have many questions. Pointing at tutorials ok if they are good (easy to read and to the point, not exclusively my point, but direct in general)

1. Is there a good way to easily make a destructible wall that breaks into bite sized pieces, not indevidually making 25 func_breakable entities that fit together jaggedly like a jigsaw. I want to know how to make 1 big func_breakable wall into 25 independent, random shaped pieces

2.how do i make a monster move in a defined pattern and do defined actions like you see everywhere in HL, like how the gman looks through the window, fixes his tie, than walks away. How do i make him fade out like he does in the game?

3. Could someone explain how to make buttons work good? i can't seem to get them to respond instantly

4. Could someone explain how to efficently align textures to a square, how to stretch, force to fit, shit around, how to texture all 6 faces of a cube diffrently, or would i have to make 6 brushes?

5. make a surf slide like a few maps in CS have

thats all for now, please don't give downloadable examples because the internet computer is not the worldcraft computer. (im using worldcraft 2.1)
