I've had problems like these, but they I have always solved them by closing and reopening VHE : . If you have no other choice, reinstall VHE.

Tommy of Escondido's Mapping help Tutorials for Half-Life and Mods says this:
missing [ in texturedef
The 'missing [ in texturedef' message can be caused several ways:

One or more faces has no texture, or the texturename is just made up of spaces. Check for problems in WC 3.3/Hammer should detect them as 'invalid texture' messages.
The texture name on one or more faces has a space in the middle of the name somehow (Textures are not allowed to have spaces in their names)
You are using Worldcraft 2.0 or 2.1, and the worldspawn has a key/value of "mapversion" "220" If so, remove it.
A Worldcraft 3.3 map was imported into WC 2.1 or 2.2, same problem as above.
A Worldcraft 3.3 map was imported into Quark, also the same problem :)
The map is in Worldcraft 3.3's .map format, but the "mapversion" "220" is MISSING from the worldspawn (this is really rare).

Maybe it creates it, but to a wrong directory. Copy the compile log (That text in the gray box) here.

Sorry for double posting but I was so bored that I had to reply again, this time to advice PiNKY. Texture.wad isn't a real .wad file, or something and VHE puts it to the textures for no reason (as far as i know). Counter-Strikes textures are hidden in the Counter-Srike.gcf(Located in SteamSteamApps). To extract the wad files, you need a program capable of exploring GCF files (Like GCFScape(see Seventh's post)).

1. Open Wally and decals.wad.
2. Select the decal you want to edit.
3. Look at the color palette.
4. See that last color? I bet it's the color that the decal uses.
5. Go to Colors -> Edit Pallette...
6. Select the last color and double-click it.
7. Select a new color.

That's it! I haven't tested this myself yet but I think it works.

Creata a big brush were you want the bombing zone to be and give it AAATRIGGER texture. Then press ctrl+t (tie to entinity), select func_bomb_target and close the window.

2: If any1 has played METROID PRIME and has seen the flooring to the last level(IMPACT CRATER and TRUE METROID PRIME) could u please make a flooring texture of it. (i think its kind of red or blue) if no one wants to them ill test things out.
Give me a picture of the flooring and i will make a texture of it.

SV_StartSound: ambience/loader_step1.wav not precached (0) that means that the sound hasn't been precached. I think it's because monster_generic doesn't precache sounds that it uses.

PS: In SDK in genericmonster there wasn't a sound precaching function, only model precaching one.
