I was using spirit but since I am still learning I decided to swap to normal Hl so I could learn on a platform that allows me to enter the competition, plus I don't need Spirit's advanced features.

The only problem is that you can't enter competitions with Spirit.

Anyone care to get a mirror for that file? 200 megs isn't a problem, but the 10kbs download speeds are.

I agree with srry, although I believe if Valve wanted to sue them they could, and they would probably win their case, but its a shitty little game.

I fucking hate these Korean game companies that make shitty download and play games with the fucking items that cost real life money. This is not an embarassment to the Korean game companies, all of their games are this shitty. This is an embarassment to TF2. I pray to god Valve sues the shit out of them.

I mean shit, one of them has a damn baseball bat. The demoman has a doo-rag on. The fucking heavy sounds are almost a direct rip from TF2.

I would use 1.5 but it kept giving me that .dll error, i'll try it again

Edit: Still crashing when trying to read the client.dll library Any suggestions from anyone? Until I find a fix i'm going to use 1.8, it seems to work and have most of the stuff from 1.5.

Edit 2: Alright I moved the otis sentences into the spirit sentence file and I move the sound to the spirit sound folder but when I go to speak to him in game he doesnt say a word.

Edit2: Sidenote, someone mentioned wadinclude, could you explain that process please?

** Executing...
** Command: Change Directory
** Parameters: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\acccount\half-life

** Executing...
** Command: Copy File
** Parameters: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\account\half-life\valve\maps\freeman_office.map" "\freeman_office.map"

Why does my compile hate me?

Edit: Fixed it, aparently when your editting you config, it automatically selects the one you created first, so I was editting my build programs for my normal HL stuff, not spirit.

Edit 2: And now when I run spirit I get an issue of loading the library "cl_dlls/client.dll" the fuck!

I have a few questions related to mapping for gldsource. First, is it possible using just HL1 resources to make a grunt totally ignore the player, I have him gagged, prisonered, and pre disastered and he still stares at me. He is also supposed to be in a scripted sequence but the moment he sees me he stops following it. Also, what do I need to do to use entites from Op4? I would like to be able to use Otis and some of the other weapons and enemies, do I just need to load the FGD and the wads or what?

Listen to the RPS podcast. Urby, you listed a lot of things, they aren't going to make all of those good new additions into DLC for free, with that ammount they should make a new game. The podcast talks about how they had so many new ideas that they felt it would be better to make an entirely new game.

in 3DRealms Developers Axed? Post #267872
If you look back they had a lot of good work done on an engine that was similar to Gldsource, but it seems like they saw a new engine they wanted to make it on so they waited for that engine to come out, and that engine came out later than they wanted, then they needed to learn that engine and learn its capabilities. I think that if they released it back on the engine that looked similar to Gldsource they could of made a newer game on a newer engine. The bottom line is they took to much time waiting and not enough time producing.

I read an interview about how Konami and Kojima Productions was going to wait for the PS3 to release before they made Metal Gear Solid 3, as Sony told them it would be out very soon, when it got delayed and delayed they went ahead and made it on the PS2, then put MGS4 out on the PS3, instead of waiting for this new engine they just used the older one to get the product out there, thats what 3D Realms shoulda done.

If you listen to the RPS podcast they point out that they have a lot of new things they want to add that won't work in DLC packs, they speak about how they are still going to be adding new content to L4D and that L4D 2 will adress issues people pointed out about L4D.
