Perhaps I (or somone else) could ask a modeler very nicley to make one. We would need the textures though (if you have one in mind please post it) of the trunk and of the tree texture. I know there are a lot of sprite trees out there, could anyone cut one down and remove its textures please?

Story line could be alright... depends on how you pull it off.

My only real bad point in the story so far is that the right hand man of this massive organisation would do such a lowly deed as meeting a bent cop in an alley way, surley "dimond" would send some good or lowly henchman to do such a meanial task.

Anyway, I hope you pull it off.

Alright, put your handbags away.

Everyone has their own point of view, some like zombies, some dont, some love them and want more and more (Tosse) - whatever. HL2 had to try and account for all tastes, I think if they had put a bit more variation in the game it would of been cool, like keeping the super snipers (that could move) and the fast combine soldiers like the assassins in HL1.

Alot of stuff VALVe could of done better or worse. Some people love HL2, most of them that I know of are from the younger generation, you just dont see many games out there today that are targetted at an adult audiance (and dont give me shit like ZOMG its an 18), it just doesnt seem to happen any more. F.E.A.R. has been the most recent one to come close so far, possibly Doom 3 aswell, but even then I think thats more targeted towards the teen generations and not at adults (blatent rip of the teen movie "the ring" in fear).

Games like Duke Nukem 3D were desgined for adults, you could pay strippers to flash you. Now you look at the same type of thing in GTA, you pay 'ladies of the night' to get it on with you, and the car bounced like its from some b rated movie or a cartoon (I'm not saying I am a fan of 'cyber sex' or anything but they could of done better than that if it was an 18).

Games these days seem to be more based on "lol" rather than somthing that is enjoyable to play that you can indulge yourself in.

The mod looks ok, the ragdoll from the kicks is WAAAY OTT and the kick itself is stolen from Duke Nukem 3D "Dukes Might Boot", not saying thats a bad thing, about time people realised you can fight people with fists and feet and not just guns.

That second mod looks awesome! I like the way they have ripped off "jedi choke" with gravity gloves haha. Does look a little OTT but meh, should be fun.

To get it:

When you first get your pistol in the armory, go to the shooting range and collect all the clips of ammo. Then go back to where your armour was in your locker, and there is a small wooden box on the floor, shoot the box (NOTE: Every Single Bullet you have must hit the box in order to break it.).

HL2 has a large atomosphere, and its "realistic" with the assaults by the combine. I think the main thing about HL2 is that it was too short and some of the "themes" were overused a little, but lets face it, sequels VERY RARLEY get a better rating than the original.

Half-Life 2 was a good FPS, its downfall was its predictable and bland story line. Apart from the GMan, its all there right in front of your eyes. In HL1, you start off and you dont know what the fuck is going on, one minuet its all nice and safe, the next BOOM, shit meets fan.

Although it would be kind of hard to do that in HL2 as anyone who has played HL1 knows the story, and can pretty easily peice together what has happened.

HL2 was a fun cool game, alas it lacks as much replayability as HL1, simply because there was so much to do in HL1. Now if VALVe had made HL2 non liniar, where you could choose your own path, we would all be bowing down before it.

Remember though, VALVe had to cut a lot out of the final product because of the hack including a load of weapons, a load of enemies and a ton of maps.

If that bastard hacker hadnt gotten into VALVe's system and stolen all their work there would of been more enemies and more diversity in the game. Its such a shame VALVe didnt just keep everything they had in there and release.

I like the two new headcrab types, it adds a new level of play, I used to get really pissed off with headcrabs in HL1 because it was always the same old "MEERRH!" and you knew exactly what was comming, 3 pistol shots and bam, their dead. The new types give the headcrab a revamp, the fast ones are awesome and the poison ones are tough and nasty, combined with the original Headcrab I think its a winning formulae.

in Music of 2005 Post #155367
Hmmm... I dont know, I am not a big follower of music, we did have some good songs this year, but we get that every year. The fact the bands that did the good songs got recognised is a different matter.

Way I see it, Music is all about the moment, some bands (usually older) get good recognistion (sp) all through their career, others get one or two good albums out and it all goes down hill. System of a Down is a perfect example, the first two albums (especially the first) were awesome, after that it all went to shit and they went commercial (IMO).

Every year has good music, just the music industry has got its act together (to make money, no doubt) and populised all the "good" stuff.

Meh, my 2 pence.

That is an impressive texture, but I need somthing thats further away from earth. Thats an Earth Orbit picture, I need a picture where earth is litterally just shown on one side.

The background I need is going to be set Apx. 400,000 Km from earth (the other side of the moon - considering having a moon base aswell as an asteroid one ;).

You will notice there are now custom textures, made by me. Remember this is still a WIP. Things to do at the moment:

1: Brush work touch up, with additions like a radar dish and small "fighter" and "freighter" craft that can launch from the bays.

2: Some texture work, such as a few more textures that are yet to be made, and editing my lights.rad to make the textures emit light, rather than the horrible ent lighting it has at the moment.

3: Tweaking.

[qoute]Yes there is, its the property of the creator. In this case them.[/qoute]

Unless they have taken legal action and actually copywrighted the wad, its fair game. Whats more, they dont have the true modders spirit, the idea of modding IMO is to share what you make so others can use your tools and more more of, and better, mods.

But thats just my general opinion. Valve seem to share it, NS does not. And as I said, I am not using the NS textures any more.

[qoute]Neat stuff. Reminds me of this one a bit.[/quote]

Thats the ship from Aliens, nothing to do with HomeWorld but a f**king awesome film.

Yea I have removed the NS textures now, not because I give a damn if the NS team like it or not, but becauase its just.. unoriginal. Its not illigal because NS doesnt cost money to aquire or play, neither will my mod. Hence there is no ground for legal action.

The Gunman Chronicles texures will stay however, some of them are awesome, now there may be legal grounds against me using them but unless a ReWolf member actually approches me privatly and tells me otherwise, I am going to use them. Hopefully they arnt stuck up prick holes like the NS team.

Anyway, more to the point; I have completly scrapped that version of the space ship now. I decided on a much better option: http://well-of-souls.com/homeworld/hws/hw2/images/display.htm?demo_091303_32.jpg

That is the basis I worked from, 95% of the brush work is done now and custom textures are being applied as soon as I finish typing this out. Screen shots soon.

Good point, although I am not trying to copy the HomeWorld colour Sceme(s) some form of colour would be better than none. I dont want it to have a paint job like HomeWorld though, if you think about it, why would you spend billions of pounds painting a war ship?

All warships that you see today are just grey, simply because there is no need for a warship to look pretty, its a warship not a love boat.

Also, you will notice that some parts of the ship are built with corrigated metal plates, the theme I am trying to get accross is that the millitary is trying to build ships fast and cheap. In the mod space exploration is still pretty new to mankind and economical pressure on space exploration and colonisation is intence.

Another aspect of the story (to give you some insight) is that Earth is no longer the center of mankind, far from it. Earth now has a population of only a few million, with all its resource deposits depleted the Earth is now simpley a salvage / scrap yard and a giant fishing farm, the fish caught are then sold on to cargo ships which take them around the galaxy. Earth itself is now one big scum pit. Anyone with no qualifications, criminals and low lifes get stranded here working in the large ship graveyards / scrap yards and fishing colonies. This is what the player is doing when the Mod begins.

Well seeing as I am starting completly from scratch with this, this is what I have come up with so far. This perticual item is going to be used in cut scenes only, there may be some "space walk" mission I might conisder adding in to the mod at some point but from the pure scale (or the planned scale) that this ship is supposed to be, I doubt it. Not unless the mission is based on the tip of one of the sensor poles.

The design is based on a ship from my absolute favorite space strategy game, Homeworld. Now take into account this not only is a WIP but its not ment to be a clone of the Carrier from HomeWorld either, its just a base on the design (because I love the look of it).

Home World Carrier:

http://well-of-souls.com/homeworld/hws/kushan/carrier5.gif

For more picture go here:

http://well-of-souls.com/homeworld/hws/kushan/index.html

My Space Craft (Taking into account that it is NOT a carrier, further more any 'docking bay' or entrance / exits are not visible, primarily because of the size of the ship but secondly because they have large metal shutters over them. One of the main reasons I picked the Kushan Carrier design was because I can think of hundreds of eye pleasing ways for it to be blown apart, damaged, scuttled, destroyed and basically I feel it looks more realistic than the Tiidani carrier. Anyway, enough about HomeWorld! On with the Half-Life.
