Yeah, that's what I've been doing all the goddamn time. -.-

thumb.JPG is tiny, the linked normal.JPG is big.

It seems to me that both ways achieve the same thing, ours just takes 2 tags instead of one. They're both showing a very small image and linking to a big one.

I don't understand the distinction you're trying to explain... use simper words maybe our reptile branes can understand ;)

BTW, 56k seriously...c'mon! I realize people still use it, but I can't understand how. Sometimes, when I go to my Grammies house, she only has dial-up, and it's so slow, I refuse to use it...seriously.

s far as this system you mention, this site has no system that incorporates thumbs.
Absolutely not true.

[url=put "big" link here][img]put "thumnail" link here (close up the tags of course)

No ImageShack necessary.

Didn't you se Jar's example he just posted?!

Kool. The spaces/hard-returns are invalidating the img/url tags!?

I think broadband users should be as inconsiderate at they can at Dial-Upers so they upgrade and realize IT'S NOT 95 ANYMORE.

Well, sometimes it a price issue or location issue, although lately most areas have Broadband now. I know we didnt have it for a couple of years when BB was the mainstream internets.
YOU finally see the point.
As far as this system you mention, this site has no system that incorporates thumbs. Although, image shack has a link system that serves.
We have an option for thumbnails but it's up to the poster. One can just put an [img] tag in a link to a larger image and manually shrink the image down, which seems to be what you have to do in your thumbnail tag anyway. It's just a little more typing.

Do you have a cell phone?

I get unlimited quasi-broadband for $5/month--about 20KB/sec, but it's prolly faster now, as I haven't used it in a while, and the speeds keep increasing--that I use when I'm away from a better source.

Even that would be an improvement over what you're using.

I would move if I were you ;).

I get cellphone broadband for cheap too, but hey. It's more of a location issue than anything ;]

Icky, Orph. I hear Satellite is pretty awful anyway, too ;P Any chance they'll install BB lines towards your region anytime soon?

indeed. the fastest widely available broadband in australia is 1500kbps and that is friggin expensive
so shutup about your 'OMG MY 10000k INTERNETZ IS ONLY DLING AT 300kbps! ITS SO SLOW!!!'
hmm, did anyone actually say that, or was it just in my head again...

anyway, i feel sorry for people who think 31kbps is slow...i have never dled anything over 28 or so...

For some reason this reminds me of Half-Life 2's story... Only in this case slow interwebs forced the population to move into cities LOL.

As for TWHL3... I think we need a better IRC bot...

But there are guys like zombieloffe who hardly submit anything. Plus you don't submit code or models in the vault.

Edit:

It's rather annoying when you post a comment on your map and a PM is sent to you automaticly from your self!

What's wrong with 'im? I can't think of much else for him to do.
The only problem I see with it Muzzle is, it relies to much on the honor system.
Er, so? It's not a competition.

I like the idea, Muzz., and will probably add it.

The thread's here for opinion, I just don't think you're getting the point of it. It's just a thing for people to indicate what they're capable of. Why would people claim to be able to code if they couldn't?

I'm not sure. I'm always describing myself as "intermediate" at stuff. I'd compare myself to the "intermediate"-level tutorials and suchlike.

We'll see, eh? I do, actually, think that three tiers is a bit much, but it's so customary, I can't think of a way to have two.

now muzz has a good idea. i think i already mentioned things like 2d graphics and audio, as well as other minor skills.

It doesn't matter if people overrate themselves, because if they can't backup their boast, no one will ask them for anything.

Hey seventh, what do i do if i want to donate money to twhl? do we have a paypal or something?

Posted 17 years ago2006-06-20 19:54:24 UTC Post #186152
Something this site (or TWHL3) needs would be a thanking system. (kind of like iwannamap.com's) People can click thanks under someones name after they helped them with a problem. People's number of thanks will encourage helping even more, and is just something cool to add :)

Yeah. GET shouldn't be... something-or-other, anyway. So I'll definitely have a confirmation thing.

Rimmy, I wouldn't worry about it, unless you have enough to run a Source dedicated server or something :).

Yeah, but HLDM is boring after a round. Install the better mods like Half-Life Rally, or The Trenches(<--needs Costum maps installed), Hostile Intent, Firearms, Front line Force, The Specialists(<--teamplay mode), Tour of Duty.

And dozen others out there. i never play hldm anymore.
