actually textures for hl2 are easier (until you get into normals and crap)

The HD stuff doesn't feel like the original HL. :
I don't care, if they look better and have a few extra polygons - only the original models keep the right atmosphere.

It just doesnt feel like HL. Why not create a small zip in the installation file that allows people to use the HD weapons?

Cool. It reminds me of a trick I used once to make a puddle of blood look more reflecting. Under the texture with the "{" transparency, I placed an inverted pyramid with a blood texture. When you moved, the blood texture seemed to move too.
