definately dont take that offensively. it's practically impossible to get good look things that small in HL1. Models are probably the best option.

oh, and skins and custom textures needed? come to me.

I just saw some beer can prop models today that I think I can probably use. CS also has a wine bottle model, so I can use that to replace my brush-based one.

And I think I may use the Poke646 texture set, since it has such a wide range of textures that would suit my needs. The city textures I've made aren't the best, to say the least. They aren't bad, but they don't look professional, which is usually the quality us mappers aim for. :)

Yay Srry!

Remeber not to make his apt too too nice, as he's not rich and a down to earth guy ;)

Looks great so far! (I like the bear cans! if you can make props look nice brush-based, I prefer them to models. If you need inspiration--which I don't think you do--, play They Hunger for some fine examples of brush-based props. Great use of ambients too incidentally :) )

Just a btw if you need beta testers for the segments that are finished, plz count me in. Also, if any of the level designers would like some detailed props or detail ideas for their maps, I'd be more than happy to pitch in--any excuse to procrastinate my current projects!!1 :P

The mod isn't dead yet, development is just slow. :)

I have made a lot of progress, and so far it's looking really great. I'm almost done with my chapter, and I'm sure the world will be rocked when they see my 1337 mapping skillz. Not. :

I'll get back to work when I get some of my other more pressing projects completed. Since nobody else is in a rush to get this done, why should I be? :P

HS5A is now completely re-made and finished.
I will move on to completely remake B and C as well.

Muzz, i'm gonna need a few itty-witty bits of coding.
In fact, it's not really coding.

I need a duplicate monster_scientist. Remember like in Gyradell Invasion with the monster_barney2? (not the enemy barney. literally just a duplicate)

This duplicate will serve the purpose of the hostages, and can be re-skinned without other random scientists around the base getting effected by the re-skin.

Yeah, and it's all total shit. It'll just be disappointing, and you shouldn't base any of your opinions about the mod on it. I'd prefer to keep it out of sight as long as possible, as it's quite frankly embarrassing, especially if you've actually PLAYED any of those old maps. :

I'd hope they were. They really don't stand up to your more recent maps, except for the gameplay, which seemed at least decent.

I just read page 55 to 70, seems like a revival. I remember this mod was 'nearly done' almoast two years ago!

Holy poop - media update.

Keep in mind: when your part is done, send it to me so i can put everything together.

Send everything you used, wads, sprites, models and what not. If you're email application can't handle all that, send it in parts.

what if the same custom textures are used in multiple BSP's? surely a WAD would save space in that scenario.
