You should find a decent gaming magazine and read it monthly. For PC games, I recommend PC Powerplay (You're in Australia, right?)
But really, L4D has been in development for ages (and it's been ages since Valve bought TR), so it's pretty hard to not know who's making it :/

i did know it was coming, but not by who, not that i pay much attention to the developer. I usually read 'play' magazine, which is monthly but it's herd to get sometimes and i can't subscribe as i have no way to (and it's not worth the cost)

subscribing is almost always cheaper than buying over the counter :P

Oh, and don't you read steam news?

I would subscribe to PCG but its not such a good idea where I live. The scratters at the Market Drayton post office stole 2 back issue copies that I ordered a year back. Luckily, I got a refund and eventually received a copy. Good ol' PCG :)

Most of my post comes via Newcastle now though. Maybe I could subscribe with some of my birthday cash. :)

PCG sucks here. I don't know if it's the US edition or if they have an Australian version (it's definitely not the UK version), but it sucks. PCPP is, on the other hand, most excellent. (but it's an Aussie-only magazine, I think.)

My brother subscribes to Electronic Gaming Monthly, and its garbage. Its all blatantly biased material that praises the big namesand overly critisizes any new contender for not being Halo.

PCG Sweden is quite excellent last time I checked on it. I've recently quit subscribing, but it's definitely the best PC Gaming magazine around.

What games am I looking forward to? Battlefield heroes. That's about it.
I have no next-gen consoles and my computer is too shitty to hold newer games, so I doubt I can handle L4D and sorts. I could get myself a console, but I rather want to save for a high-end computer and school finances. :aghast:

No, I don't bother because I can't pay for anything online anything, (don't have and don't want a credit card)

And back on topic, Tom Clancy's End War looks good ATM, however, I have only seen a trailer, not much in-game stuff so it may be....

RE5 looks really good but the concept sounds a bit over-the-top... I mean, mutant slim spitting canines with folded back jaws of razor sets of chompers ready for your leg??

You're new to the RE universe, aren't you? :P

In previous games you come across a mutated snake the size of a bus, an equally big centipede, a shark the size of a whale, a scorpion the size of a car, giant spiders, giant frogs, giant everything. Call it over-the-top, but it's why RE rocks.

Define "good". Oh, and do it without mentioning any actual games, if you can. Anybody can say "your games suck",....anybody.

"Anybody" does not faze me at all.

That's just a weak excuse for cashing in on a dying franchise. Who ever thought it was cool to let Sub-Zero fight Superman needs to get some serious slapping in his face. The game hasn't even got the blood and gore Mortal Kombat is so well-known for.

Define "good"
good - bet?ter, best,
adjective
1.morally excellent; virtuous; righteous; pious
2.satisfactory in quality, quantity, or degree
3.of high quality; excellent.
Let me just break this down without saying "they suck."

Midnight Club: I personally have no interest in this series at all but having seen them in action I know I'd much prefer to play Burnout. Thats saying somthing too because Burnout has been another victim of Product Placement Propaganda since Burnout2.

Need For Speed: Product Placement and nothing more. The overuse of brand names means that all of the developers budget has gone on licensing and stuff like that. As a result the gameplay aspect boils down to the same repetitive nonsense.

Mortal Kombat: Like many great retro titles, this should never have gone 3D, thats all I have to say.

Halo 3: Recon: I despise Halo and its sequals and spin-offs and whatever bullshit merchandise they spawn. People need to realise that it's a bad shooter made up of nothing ripped off cliche's from other games. I mean christ, Master Chief himself is a ripoff of the Doom marine.

However, as always, this is down to personal opinion so who the fuck cares right? Play what you like, nobody has the power to tell you not to.

That's why I put a "maybe" on it, I still have doubts about that game.

Nice comeback,....sounds good to me. I will buy that. Have a nice day, Urbanebula.

The original Supreme Commander was quite fun I thought. It's just different from every other RTS in terms of resource management and the process of upgrading your stuffs.

It had a bit of a steeper learning curve than most other RTS's but I enjoyed it quite a lot. It was just something different.

I too look forward to SC:E

Yep, but I wouldn't compare it with the games. Even the developers have criticised the movie.

That bad, uh?....Man, why can't they ever make a good movie based on a video game?!..........And on the other way around,.......have you ever noticed on how much a video game based on a movie tend to suck so much? They tend to have that "rushed" look and feel to them.

Yea, criticism like that can be a real bitch. Now, with that out of the way, let's see how this movie does in the box office, where it really counts and where it will be decided if it gets a sequel or not. After all, it won't be the first time a lousy movie gets part 2.
Posted 16 years ago2008-10-23 01:08:00 UTC Post #257525

Only to crappy producers, right? It's how good the film actually is (or isn't) that really matters. A film can gross millions, but still be the largest pile of crap ever produced.

There's a hint of a sequel after the credits, but it doesn't line up with the video game sequel at all, the story of the first game didn't actually come to it's full conclusion.

Hey, since you mentioned Bioshock, just wanted to let you know that a exclusive debut teaser to Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams, is been put up online a few hours ago: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/41898.html

It's not really that much to see on the teaser, but something is something.
