One thing I've been looking into is what kinds of careers level designers and modders seem to go into. There seems to be some loose correlation with writers, at least from people I know.
What kind of career fields are you guys going into (or currently in)?
I have an interest in engineering, as I have and always will have a passion for creation. My dream job would be to work for Valve though, of course. ^_^

I own a cocktail and BBQ stand right beside my house, which I work just part time. And when I am not doing that, I prepare and ship out the orders I get from my online business located at: http://coquimart.ecrater.com/ . I am currently involved with a major, renovation construction project that keeps me busy for the rest of my time.

Once my military enlistment ended some years ago, one of the first I things I did was to use my G.I. Bill collage funds towards getting a small business management certificate. Nothing fancy, just the basics.

Majoring in English and Math Education. When I'm done with it, I'm hoping to get into the JET program for a year, followed by moving to Japan and teaching English as a career. But if JET falls though, there's plenty of alternatives.

Something in the automotive industry for sure, probably some greasy-ass technician since that's the kind of stuff I enjoy doing.
I think we'll find this a very interesting thread, because while the expectation is that the average mapper is looking to get into some highly technical computer-related industry, in reality I believe there is no average mapper.

I hope I'll be a designer\programmer or if this fails, a jobthat implies usign the computer. Or even a truck driver what the heck(the least I can expect tho)

I'm going to be an aeronautical engineer.

mmmm, tasty. As for me im hoping to do a corporate law degree, after that i'll do a bachelor of law dgree for a year and then after that a masters of european law and then I might do the course that allows, me to practice law, it will take a while but at least i'll have lots of letters after my name when I finish, YAH!

The Source by circuit city, and circuit city are actualy two different companies. Last I've heard Circuit City is actually going out of business at which time we will probably be know as 'The Source'. I'm not too sure at what actually happened but it's pretty much the same store, just defferent owners so to speak... well, its actually a corporation soo.. I guess theres no owners.. bah, hard to explain.. sorry

I'm going to study business science(it's one of the top (and most difficult) business degrees you can get, very hard to get accepted, only offered by a few Universities), and the hopefully get a nice business job, and climb up the corporate ladder. I might even start my own business. From what I have heard from graduated business science students, they get extremely good jobs straight out of University, in New York, London, etc.
If I don't get into business sci, I will do computer science, or maybe engineering.

Im double majoring in Computer Technology and Networking. I am 1 semester from an Associates degree, and I'm employed as Helpdesk support at the school I attend.
