I am watching Ponyo, the latest film by Miyazaki.
It's wonderful, as usual.

I am watching Ponyo, the latest film by Miyazaki.god i dunno, that could be the most pointless/stupid animated film i've ever seen, but since you give it a high recommendation, i'll give it another try?
there's no way you can be serious..What's there not to like about it? They don't make films like that anymore... the 80's and 90's were great in terms of action films; Universal Soldier, Robocop, Street Fighter, Terminator, Total Recall...
For all of you who enjoyed American Beauty, give American Psycho a shot. Great movie.I don't feel that it's appropriate to put the two on the same level. The only thing to two share in common are a word in their titles.

Don't both involve chasing/living the American Dream? Not enough to warrant saying the two films are very similar. I can only assume you are defining The American Dream here as breaking from a redundant lifestyle in order to chase contentedness, but that's already a popular theme. I mean, by that logic, you should be able to recommend Office Space alongside the two. But the premise, plot, execution, and obviously the characters in the two films are very, very different.

Personally, I always felt some strong tie between Beauty and Psycho, however I can't really put my finger on what that tie actually is. Either way, feel free to ignore my recommendation due to lack of supporting analysis from my end.
