As myself I am always relevant.
Going on Soup's idea:
Even if we start catering to other crowds, whom may already exist here, what
really makes it different from the current TWHL?
Everything that can be / wants to be discussed is already happening. There's threads here that encompass pretty much everything.
You say that we need sections for different stuff like this? What makes you think that opening sections will bring in more people?
The threads we have, as of now, are sufficient enough as they are. There is nothing about topical threads that screams "hey, this would be cool if I could start a NEW thread about this subject, and put it in this subject's section!"
What we really need to do is focus on what we have, and what we could reasonably have.
We have:
- A community made up of about 40 active members
- Goldsource and Source tutorials
- A shit ton of maps for said engines
What we can reasonably have:
- A new name (still don't see a point)
- A new domain (all for it)
- New Webdesign
- new hosting (necessary)
- More tutorials
The most important point is the last point. Tutorials. Or not even that: just content.
Given we get actual content for other things we wish to do, then we start branching that way. You can't "build it and hope they come". This isn't fucking Woodstock.
Start a motion towards different content, and then we can move that way. I don't think discussing what we could encompass will accomplish anything. Start showing genuine discussion and interest to other things, and then we can even think about adding more.
