Hi everyone,

I am having some trouble with models that use additive textures :

When I open those models with the model viewer, they look fine, but when rendered in hammer or in half-life, the additive textures are somehow considered as plane textures. For example, scientists glasses are black, the glowing stuff on the energy weapons appear with a black square.
That makes a lot of models look ugly... and I can not figure what is wrong.
(I have some screenshots, but I don't know how to put them on this post)

Has anyone got an idea ?
thanks !

I think there is a dll that you would need that allows HL to render transparent textures in models. Does anyone know which one it is?

Also, if you want to put images up type it like:

{img}imageurl{/img}

Except with square brackets instead of those ones.

It's one the graphics DLLs. It comes with Steam Half-Life. If you're running WON HL you can copy it from someone who has Half-Life on Steam. I think one of the WON versions of Day of Defeat has it as well, but I'm not completely sure.

WON Half-Life is no longer supported, though there are workarounds to these problems, as posted.
Consider getting Half-Life on Steam.
You can input your WON CD key to unlock the Steam version.

Thanks for your replies, do you know which DLL may be the cause ? client, opengl32, ... ?
Anyway, if I don't find anything I will activate the game on steam, but I guess all the custom .mdl files I use will have to be converted to fit the steam version ?

Nope. The file structure is identical.
