If just the exact same entry I just looked at, that would be disappointing.
I will try to finish it off properly and make you proud Rim!

I'm having a lot of fun with this, even though my entry isn't so great.. Another thing I'm enjoying about this one is there is ZERO texture alignment, so off-grid stuff has never been easier skin :)

Also, GIF makers are fun!

About 10 days left guys.

I was thinking for fun and simply for the sake of further experimentation, I could add a bunch of lights to the colors.wad so people can play around with both color and light.

It sounds like he's considering adding texlights to the wad. How will they look in a full bright map I wonder.

I don't know, run rad and find out.

It isn't for the compo so carry on what you guys are doing. I was just considering expanding the wad and resources for fun purposes.

As for the next compo idea, if there is one, I have no idea what kind of compo it will be.

I think that was mentioned but we never made any sort of official decision on it. Perhaps we should think about it.

Maybe we can do it anyway as long as the idea is run through a series of test chambers and Atom and I think it's a quality idea. How did we handle it before anyway?

Winner has the option to pick the next minicompo idea, BUT it must be approved by Rimrook and Atom. Perhaps also give winner the option to guest judge, which could give R'Atom a chance to compete if they wanted to?

These do work together but i want to make it feel like you are going through all of them when walking from end to end in the map.

I'm thinking of a method to make it so that the wheels don't pop out of the track, but it will probably end up being fairly complicated to set up.

It shouldn't be that bad to set up, I know there are examples about that handle mutiple cars.. You could also make the turn a bit wider, but regardless, that looks really neat!

Your first WIP looked really neat too!(did you scrap it, or will you try to include it in your entry?)

the wheels could follow a single track, just spaced.

It's not sure guys, I still have to receive a reply from the contests moderator. I am the only one that could organize an official contest for the GoldSource engine other than the admins and mods. But I first have to ask them/receive a reply. :P

I've been experimenting with it, and it seems that everything I try doesn't work in one way or another. Technically the train body should be on a different set of paths from the wheels since the wheel brackets connect to the track at each end, and the train connects to each wheel bracket at their centres, but frankly I can't be arsed to do that. Having a different path length makes it so that the chances of the different entities going out of sync is too high.
I'll have to just figure something out.

The train is going to end up being part of an elevated train system in the same map.

And finally this minicompo is winding down!

Why is it I'm thinking of so many good ideas for this, with only 2 days left to go.. I should be able to finish my entry to a satisfactory level by then doe--stag party tonight, and I always go out on thursday, so this minicompo will be completed half in the bag ;)

How is everyone else finishing up?

90% done. Outside area of my map still wip - missing props (trees, rocks,etc), pretty much stretching over the entirety of the hammer grid but should be done by tonight, with some screenies to follow.
