The fact one of those two survived this onslaught surprises me. (I had backup coming, but they were several turns of movement away, not to mention had some enemies of their own to deal with.)

Oh my god. I have now played but five rounds of Duck Game; two with randoms, three with friends.

It is so much goddamn fun.

I implore you, get this damn thing. And feel free to invite me to every game you play.

I might write a mini-review if the stickied "Just Finished Gaming..." thread is unlocked.

I do love our livery. :D

I'm getting used to driving the cars, so my lap times should start improving. I just get very reckless when I see another car...

monster_urby monster_urbyGoldsourcerer

It's the Painkiller remake, Hell and Damnation...Something like that... Don't think the park was in the original.
Posted 9 years ago2015-08-29 16:21:53 UTC Post #326878
It's not the stake gun, it's an SMG-Flamethrower combo where primary fire mode fires the submachine gun in bursts, secondary fire mode fires, obviously, the flamethrower.

I don't recall this weapon being in the original non HD version, so it must be a new weapon. Same with this Loony Park level, I don't recall that at all. I have yet to play through it though, I haven't played yet since I posted that screenshot. :)

Armello

An interesting little gem, this one. Sort of a fantasy board-game-y type of thing. I want to say it's almost like across between Magic the Gathering and Settlers of Catan? And yet it's not really like either. It's got a lot of interesting mechanics, like the Rot and the card-burning. It leans on RNG a decent amount, and yet it rarely feels cheap about it; so far I've never felt like I was getting screwed over out of pure bad luck.
Lovely art throughout, and plays with animation in some satisfying ways. It also balances the lighter expectations of a game with semi-anthropomorphic creatures against more realistic, darker themes in a very pleasant manner.
Most importantly, it's pretty fun! I'm going to recommend this one.

This video shows it off decently. It was made while it was still in Early Access, but as far as I can tell, there's nothing crucially different within.

Urba, does it know if Battlefront be gettable on the tru-tru, Steam?

And yeah no, I didn't expect the game to look photorealisitc like that--I think I like the toonier style much better, e.g., Clone Wars, Rebels--, but I've been waiting for this game for a LONG time and will definitely buy it :)

For all the hype, it is by no means a PERFECT game and they have made some really dumb decisions. Nothing a few mods can't fix.

I'm looking forward to being able to play GTA V on PC soon. I've played a bit of it on my brother's X-Box, but I haven't had the opportunity to play for more than a few hours.

Lately I've been playing some Arma: Cold War Assault (a.k.a. Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis)
It's a fairly in depth military simulator, so gameplay is nothing like Call of Duty or any similar titles. Most firefights are spent lying prone, slowly crawling from one piece of cover to the next, and shooting at enemies who are so far away you can barely see them. Typically you will die if you are hit, unless you only get hit in the limbs. It was actually the basis for a piece of military training software called VBS1.
Graphically, it reminds me of the areas south of San Fierro in GTA:SA. Gameplay wise, it can be very difficult, as you might expect. If you decide to play it, be prepared to die a lot.

Most people don't have patience for OFP.
Granted the game is very rough around the edges and it is a very frustrating game, but it is a very enjoyable experience if you can slow yourself down enough to keep yourself from getting killed.

I'm loving the new career style game mode in Exanima. It's a really cool game if you're into medieval era stuff, with a little fantasy, a heavy emphasis on physics and an utterly unforgiving permadeath system. You can easily lose all your progress in a second if the enemy gets a lucky hit.

I've started a new series where I make myself and the SnC guys into a fighter's guild. :)

I recently bought a Wii U (a group purchase split with two other friends; that helped justify the cost to number of games I wanted from it). Thus, I've been sinking a fair bit of time into Super Mario Maker, Splatoon and Super Smash Bros. (and less into some others). They're all solid games! Splatoon, as I knew it to be, is strangely compelling, and the gyro controls work well.
