Def. can't finish mine this week, gotta work on the weekend too, and an extension is kinda pointless for me since in a couple of weeks, i'll be gone from the desktop for a month or so.
That would still leave me with a couple of weeks to work with, but if things keep up like this i don't think i'll have neither the time, nor the will power to wrap it up.
Kinda pointless, but i do promise to upload it once it's finished, if anyone wants to give it a go as a separate map.

yeah im rounding the corner to getting something happening. I should have it done by the weekend if I push it, though I wont say no to another week!

A'ight, I'm gonna extend once more to take me up to the end of my next week off. Cut off is now October 22nd. That's the absolute last time though, because then I'll be back at work until March. :P

I had a dream I submitted a map, where you exit the portal into a fleshy maze fighting giant floating globs. You have to destroy various pulsing tendrils, and each time you do the camera pans to Gordon doing various wacky things. Surprise! You are fighting inside his body! In the end your path of destruction of various important body bits leaves him mute and the kind of person who ruins other people's microwave dinners. Maybe best I didn't make this.

Had to scrap my entry last night.

The gameplay was really bad and most of the entity setups refused to work properly. I wasted 2 weeks trying to fix all of the issues but eventually I just gave up, so I decided to start a new map instead.

I hope I can finish it before the deadline.

@Windawz Perhaps you can still use the current map as a certain baseline? That way you don't have to start from scratch. Maps go through many changes in development.

When I was making my CS 1.6 map de_msx1 I had one of the bombsites in a completely different corner than it ended up. The rough layout seemed to work in my head but after laying it out I realized it was horrible and I ended up rotating the entire site and surrounding walls/entrances 90 degrees and shifting it over to another corner. Then I just revamped a bit of the layout around it and it's probably the 2nd most played out of all my maps on my clan's custom map server (not counting fy maps that get played early on waiting for the server to fill).

I know making a sp map for HL is a bit different than a mp map for CS but the point is that what I had was terrible but it only took deleting some of it and shifting other things around to make it much better.

Why do you think I'm gonna start from scratch. I have a decent gameplay concept in mind, I also don't need to make a new set of textures. So all the hard work is already done.
The concept itself is pretty simple. I should be able to finish it in a couple of weeks.

its looking alright so far though, Windawz? I think we'll still have some polish time after the due date, Urby just wants the first versions.

To quote the man himself:
After testing, people would get a chance to make changes and adjustments to their maps before a final version is put together, tested and released.

My map isn't even close to being playable. Most of the scripts just don't work properly and I'm too lazy to fix everything up.

Just by the by, your map doesn't need to be finished at this stage. If you can run through it and get to the end, that's fine. Don't worry too much about scripting / fine detail at this point. :)

If you can't make it to the end because a scripted sequence needs to open/break/give access to something then why not just make any of that stuff activated by a button as a placeholder?

Sorry, I won't be completing a map for this. I worked a bunch on one idea, scrapped it. My second map was actually telling the story of its own construction, like fullbright blockout to undetailed basic textures, to polished and detailed as you progressed. I think the most appropriate ending for that map is that it remain unfinished, poetic.

The work did get the creative juices flowing again, I still hope to actually participate in one of these projects. :)

Sorry to hear so many couldn't complete their maps. Also, a large number of people expressed an interest but haven't come back with any more info afterwards, which was the same with the tower to be honest.

I'm working to get mine to a point where the player can get to the end.

Once done, I will string together the maps I have and then post a link for an alpha testing phase. Anyone is welcome to provide their thoughts and feedback. Then we'll open up to round two, which is fixing up any issues and finishing maps with details and scripting and so on.

I'm sorry that I won't be able to provide my map as well. I made a wrong estimation of the time needed to finish Parasomnia. Add the fact that my motivation was killed by having issues with J.A.C.K.'s 3D views on my laptop and Sledge that refused to work for an unknown reason (if I have the chance to provide a dump for PB I will).

Nevertheless, I wish good luck to the people that still work on their maps, the screenshots that have been showed so far are awesome. Looking forward to play the mod ^^

I'm not sure I feel comfortable people having a go at my map considering the scripts (which actually sets the character/theme of the map) arn't fully functional...

Finally got the chance to start stitching things together. This one is looking to be considerably shorter than the tower, but still a lot of fun to play through the maps. Just trying to get the order down and work on the intro and finale.

I will contact each of you who submitted maps with details for your changelevels, but if you want to continue working on your maps at all, now is the time. :D
