I looked at some maps and they came with a custom WAD file, how do you make your own custom WAD file like thay do??

You need a program called 'Wally' to create the actual wad file. As for the textures inside, you need some darn good Paint skills!

No. You get your textures into a folder, make a qlumpy script, compile it bladiblahblah. Look at Setting up a mod Part 3 and Custom Textures tutorials. I supplied the example for steinin's mod tutorial :)

Eh? I thought he wanted WAD textures, not console splash screens...

Yes, but it is the same method. QLumpy makes wad files. So, if you read that tutorial and modify it for normal textures, it WILL work.

I just use Qlumpy. Wally is for noobs. Qlumpy is more flexible if you can be bothered with it.

So I'm a noob then.

As long as a program is easy to use and does what it has to do, there's no 'noobness' in using it. Besides, how easy is it to update your .wad file with Qlumpy? Can you just add or delete a texture from it or do you have to run the whole script again?

Indeed.

There is a tutorial on this! Look at the tutorials section before posting questions like this please.

Thats what I've been saying for ages now, Look at the past forums instead of making a thread for a question that already has been answered, do a little research first. sigh
