What the hell? You've changed ur mind about selling it??? Come on man even if you sell it for a buck, you'll still make 1 million dollars! Even a homeless person can afford that, for god sakes that's only 10 empty coke cans he has to find on the street and take to the store then he friggin owns all our hard work, the theiving ba$tard!
Look I had to go to get a loan from the bank today and payments start on friday, so I hope you're going to pay them for me. Just think of it as my advance :D. What do you say to $20,000 a map? For my voice, say $200 a word (to save money you can pay hollywood in cans for his voice parts)? And coding mmm $2000 a page? Thanks man u know it makes sense :P

Omg Cow it was only a joke, I thought you might of got it when I started talking about getting paid, let alone getting paid millions of dollars. I doubt any gaming team gets paid those ridiculous amounts, I'm not interested in money for this, or even getting noticed. However what I am interested in is learning how to make a mod, models, maps etc etc, which no one else seems to be doing around here.
It's funny I've read right through this whole thread, there's alot of people making funny comments about this mod, basically ripping the piss out of you cow, but you don't say anything to them.

We're only a team of community members, who joined because they were interested in it. Not because they wanted 2 get fuckin payed... Join an official project if ur gd enough... They might pay ya, although i doubt it.. :

Man how many times do I have to tell you, I went to college for this. So yes I do know how to code, although as you know this is my first mod, you don't just go in and start typing away on someone elses (valve's) code like you made it. I have to look at it first, but I've been busy making the first map, which is almost complete. Started modelling for the first time 2 days ago (xsi isn't easy for a novice) & I've already made my first set of models. I've only been on this mod for what a week and now I'd very much like to know what the rest of the team has done so far, especially Daubster...

Ok, but sm0k3y, I'm not sure if I can send you the current code, there seems to be something wrong with it.
I tried to compile it, without changing ANYTHING.
Aaand, I got an error.

I wrote the error some where in this thread.. Can't find it though.

Holy crap!

Well, what do you say, damage: 35, 40 or 50?

I have an idea, maby you could make a shot in the foor, split the damage in two, for example, you have a weapon that damages 40 each shot, if you fire in the foot, it damages the NPC/Player only 20.
I think this is posseble through scripting only.. I'll try.

Well I'd go for 40.. And yes, damage divided by 2 would be quite realistic. I think that the player's max movement speed should become slower, when hit in the foot... e.g, with 1 hit in the foot, the player couldn't run. :)

Got a scedual problem!

Ok, after 2 weeks (from last monday) I will be away on a school omatics trip on the seas, so, I can't really do anything for the mod.
but, I will be back on the sunday.
But, as I said, there is 2 weeks left, and I think we will be able to create a lot if we just, keep up the rythm.

So, could you keeps this thread alive and keep telling your process of the models/textures/maps while I'm gone it would be perfect be cause then, I would just have to enter this thread to se what point on the list we are on! :)

Ok, slasher, you know what to do, that t-tab map..
Daubster: We need a new Blue thunder logo. Like the cool SWAT echo 12 one but with blue thunder instead.
The best would be of the banner is very whide, so, don't begin on a new line like:
Blue
Thunder

Would be better with:
Blue Thunder

Ok, and holly, you're learning to animate, and you where going to remake the magnum in to a beretta (I'll fix the damage scale)

Pepper, you're working on the soccom and tries to fix the P90 right?

And our temporary layout color test is grey, black, white and maby some blue?

We need, as you might guess, a media section for all 4 kinds of media wich is:
In-game, concepts, weapons, characters.
Did I miss any cathegory?

Ok, and, we will need a forum bit I'll fix that.
We will just contact HL2files, and they'll host us and fix a forum for us. ;)

We also need a page with the whole crew listed.
An "about section" where the info about the mod will be typed.

And, nothing else that I can come up with right now. :)

OMFG I just spent almost an hour writing in here yesterday and it didn't even print to screen in the thread!! Didn?t have the time to rewrite it all then, but here goes nothing now?

Yes Hollywood it's time to get serious about this! And yes Daubster I have seen your concept of the SWAT guy which is a good start! But I think we really need to decide the fundamentals of this mod (is it SWAT or Special Forces?). Because I think we?re going all over the place at the moment and haven?t put anything in concrete yet.
A few days back Cow and I discussed the fact that SWAT guys would not be sent off around the world (as was originally intended) taking out terrorists or anyone else for that matter, as they are assigned to local police (U.S.). So we talked about a special force (which he named Blue Thunder), who would need some organisation (UN ? doesn?t sanction military action) or person (Jon Martins ? General Martins?) telling them where to go and what to do.
In my humble opinion this story lacks a lot of depth and I think we should get together and decide on what needs improvement ASAP (before we lose more time working on something we may not use for the final version). After all this idea has been done to death on so many other games, so unless this mod has something unique which no one has done before (which I doubt we are capable of right now) then I think people out there will be put off the whole idea straight away & just revert back to CS, Rainbox Six or SWAT4.
Also the mappers will find it difficult to make these different locations (Red Square in Moscow, Sydney Habour Bridge etc). Otherwise if you just make generic backgrounds and similar looking towns, how will you distinguish where the player is at?
Anyway I?m sure we can all agree on one thing, that we want this mod to be very good & exciting enough for people to want to download it at least. So I propose that we rewrite the script a little and set it a little bit further in the future (2008 was Raven Sheilds time). Cause then we can take advantage of the fact that this ?task force? (or SWAT) can be using state of the art technology, weapons/protection. All we have to do is find some stuff on the net, which is under the ?development stage?. And I feel this would jazz up the mod and give it better appeal, as opposed to using the same old stuff (this isn?t set in the 1980?s) and the same old scenarios.
Anyway, I can research all this, come up with some examples of what I?m talking about and run it by you to see what you all think, of course as SECONDARY option to what we currently have (I don?t want to step on anyone?s toes)?

Oh and Cow, please tell me exactly what you have done with the mod (and code) so far. Don?t forget you are only given the barebones stuff in there, to write the code to integrate into the software, you need a c++ compiler, which begs the question, what have you been using? lol. You can still edit the files with notepad as they're still only text files, but to compile them into the mod (and hence the game) you need a C++ compiler. The Microsoft one is used as it has all the features they use, as well has having a pre-configured config file for the environment and the correct compile options.

Well, Sm0k3y I've read ur post and I agree with ur ideas... We really need sumthin that would make Blue Thunder stand out of the crowd... It could either be something totally new (game mode, wpn sys, realism, etc.) or it could have some VERY awesome gameplay, including MP. Madcow - I suggest that you'd read his long post.. It should take you 5min max anyways... :lol:

Maybe we could go to futuristic, but we shouldn't go off to SCI-FI. I'd say we stick 2 reality and make some interesting upgrades for the wpns or, like Sm0k3y said - look for it. I could try drawing some concepts of the upgraded wpns. BT (Blue Thunder) could have some unique wpns - like some special bullets or some special greandes (lots of codework, I know). Like I said b4 - we could get rid of the crosshair - to make the player aim with the wpn itself. We could also make the players' movement speed drop down permanently, when he's wounded.

We could also see, what made other mods so popular (CS).
CS got popular because of it's great team-based concept and it's terrific gameplay. Why not stick to that? In BT - teamplay should be very important. We could make it so that the success of the mission would depend much on teamwork.

So what do ya think of my iedas? Any more? :)

Ok, s0k3y, you want the truth? I bet you can handle it! :P

Here is the story so far, if you guys don't have some opinion about it.

Story:
A terrorist leader from USA has just been discovered after the police in Russia arrested a man named (make up a name, lol) 10 years ago.
The man was arrested for having illigal weapons (no license and such)
The weapon was customised and so was the amunition.
They didn't suspect the man for making the weapon so they made him say where it came from.
He mentioned some guy from USA named "Sairady Hawkins"

The man escaped from prison and was found killed by a sniper 7 weeks later.

The killed guys brother was in contact with him a lot and knew what was going on.
He moved from Russia and was not found.

about 9 years later, the police arrests an other man in USA for carrying an illeagal weapon, the man wheres a note wich leads to a store called "T-tab"
It also contains a date.
This guy wheres the same tatoo as the guy that was murdured in Russia.
The police suspects a connection.

2 weeks later, the team is collected to find out what the hell is going on and, you know, blah blah blah.

1 week later T-tab get's "robbered" by two men, an anonymous wittnes saw them enter the story but got away.

The team gets together and starts the big case (make up a name :P )

The robber isn't to get money, but to get the hostage (the guy at the registrator wich is the mans who got murdured's brother) and murder him, but just to make it look like a normal robber instead of a chain murdurer.

And there is where it begins..

Like the story?
Got anything to change?
This took me long time to figgure out, and, I think it seems realistic.
