@DiscoStu: No, the image that triggers the change is in my profile. It's the "Hello <name>!" image.

I'm painfully aware of that :)
Btw, Atom, to make that black line go away from the bottom of your avatar miniature, add 3 transparent pixel rows to your avatar so it'll be 100x100 pixels in size.

Whenever someone views my profile, that someone's web browser loads an image from my web server. My web server is programmed to replace my TWHL avatar with that of the person who most likely viewed my journal. I call it the Automatic Avatar Stealer 4000. Patent pending.
Commented 13 years ago2011-01-02 15:02:43 UTC in journal: #6966 Comment #59070
Well, none of my scripts are hosted on TWHL's web server, although they are sending HTTP requests to it. None of the scripts do any damage (except for stressing the sever a bit, but that should be so little no one should notice any difference). Still, if Penguinboy would ask me to remove one of my dynamic image scripts I'd comply.

I have a pair of cheap wireless headphones. The sound quality isn't very good but they still produce noticeably clearer sound when I plug them into my Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-E sound card or my TV than when I plug them into my integrated Realtek sound chip or my brother's integrated Intel sound chip.

"Is your statement based on your experience or you just say this because, well... it's probably a saying that everybody learned from the internet"
It's based both on my experience and on what I've read and heard.

"Is it true that a sound card can free up some CPU usage?"
Yes, if your sound card supports hardware acceleration (Creative's cards do). With a decent CPU you shouldn't notice much difference though.

Integrated sound is never good - it suffers from interference from the other components on the motherboard. I think that if you get a good sound card the sound quality will improve dramatically. For $40 I'm not sure what you can get though.
