Well like I said "for how old it is" it obliviously can't compete with Source and other new engines but for it's age it's still got new mods and upgrades. Take for example mods that specifically push the limits of it like Hypernova or Half-Life Episode 2. Some pretty high quality content has come from those mods, of course they can't compete with Source but for the Goldsource engine they're pretty well done.
But this is getting off topic, I wasn't talking about how the Goldsource engine compares with others, I was talking about my mapping stuff.

I see a lot of people still active and excited over HL1 mods all the time. When pushed to it's limits the Goldsource engine can be pretty amazing for how old it is.

Um is that in regard to my first point or second? Although I did start a tiny bit of Source mapping last week I didn't really create much, still just kinda messing around/ trying to figure out how it works and trying to stop mapping like it's a Goldsource map.

I love and hate snow at the same time. For example the type of snow I got was the useless kind that doesn't stick together so you can't have any fun in it. There are some pros though like school being cancelled and it looks nice but that just makes going to school the next day feel like a Monday.

Basically we are all screwed, if one erupts it will destroy a huge area around that then blot out the sun for the rest of the world. Then as the years pass and the sky clears again BOOM another one blows and we repeat the process.

Yea well that's the thing, I have 1 friend with a PS3 and one with both a PS3 and an Xbox but he plays online with the PS3. So it would make more sense to buy a PS3 because my friends play it. I have heard bad things about the PS3's Orange Box port but I've played it on his PS3 and it's not that bad.

DS? I'm assuming you don't mean a Nintendo DS?
I would get a beastly graphics card but when all you friends have play PS3 it's just more fun. My one friend is a PC gamer but he has the same netbook that I'm using as a backup as his permanent computer so he gets about 20-30 FPS in Goldsource games.

I currently have enough to buy a PS3 without selling my Xbox but really I don't want both. If I have a PS3 and Xbox the Xbox would not really get used and would just sit there. My one friend had an Xbox and bought a PS3 but the only thing keeping him playing his Xbox is the fact that he has a lot of games for it and all his saves and achievements. For me I could get rid of my Xbox the only thing I wouldn't be looking forward to about it is getting "Little Rocket Man" in EP.2 all over again. I have 2 games for it, The Orange Box and CoD: World at War.

Yea I liked it and I actually chose to play though just that chapter a third time just so I could do it again and it doesn't seem as hard as it did the first time. I just needed to develop a better tactic, usually what I do now is use the logs lying around to take out the hunters and then use the shotgun to blow the strider up. I made the mistake the first time of using my guns to shoot the hunters while they only takes 2 hits with the logs and I used the pistol to shoot the maggnusson devices which makes it a lot harder. I still haven't been able to get the achievement for saving all the building s yet though. I think it would be easier on computer than on Xbox 360.

Nope, I used to have them on it before I got the Inspriron but I don't feel like installing steam and the games on a computer I'll only really be using for a short period of time and during travel.
@Joebama ... is this some kind of a joke, a comment that isn't negative or is that just on HL1997?! But to answer the question a few weeks ago I started and finished last week.
