potatis: DisplayFusion sets it up so that a middle-click moves the window to the other monitor. You can get rid of the ugly and slightly buggy extra icon and use middle click instead :)

I have all 3 consoles, and I play the PS3 the most. Mostly because of the fact that both Ant and Strider also own a PS3. Also, Uncharted!

I thought water was colourless, but I just looked it up and it actually does have a very slight blue colour. The more you know.

A dead cat is no longer a cat; It's some hobo's dinner!
Commented 11 years ago2010-11-23 07:12:03 UTC in journal: #6888 Comment #42957
Assuming you start with x (where x > 0) cats (and a dead cat doesn't count as a cat), you place each cat in the room. In the center of the room you place a vial of deadly neurotoxin that will shatter if a certain amount of radiation is detected by a Geiger counter. You then place an appropriate amount of radioactive material next the the vial/counter setup and close the door.

Because radioactive decay is a truly random process, it is unknown whether the vial has broken (killing the cats) or not. Until the room is opened and you see if the cats are dead or not, the cats are in a state of being both alive and dead simultaneously.

So the answer is both x and 0 at the same time. Of course, the correct answer will reveal itself to you once you open the door and take a look. If there are 0 cats, then it means that the deadly neurotoxin was released and the cats have been killed. Because you opened the door to take a look, you have just inhaled neurotoxin and are also dead.

As being dead is not an ideal situation, the desired answer is that x cats are in the room. Because x is the number of cats in the room before the experiment started, the answer can easily be deduced.

Therefore: The number of cats in the room is the number of cats you put in the room.

Ant says not to start a console flame war, and then flames the 360 for an entire paragraph? Hypocrite much?

Cool. I don't even like AOE3, and I bought it :P
For those with Xboxes, you probably have 10 MS Points lying around. You can also pay for the game with those.

Luckily for you, learning to build your own computer is very, very easy. When the time comes for you to get a new PC, grab a mate who knows a bit about it and get him to help you, if you're unsure. As for money issues - building yourself is always a lot cheaper than buying pre-made.

I've gotten that issue before, but for me it's always meant that my headphones are broken.

Maybe if you built it yourself you wouldn't have such a crappy computer to start with?

That's a nice card. I have a 275 myself, which performs really well. An even though Dell gave you an upgrade for free I still think you should build computers yourself ;)

I'm getting a PC upgrade at work very soon - quad core Xeon CPU, Quadro graphics card, 6GB RAM, and Win7 64bit. Big improvement over what I have now, which is a rustbucket. I think it's powered by a little mouse in a wheel.

My dad doesn't make beer, but he does make his own rum (and other spirits). I was using metho to clean a whiteboard a while ago and realised that it smells identical to his rum. I didn't tell him that >_>

Oh, and: Happy birthday!

Stop spreading lies, Tet. The Omega drivers might have been "better" ten years ago, but they are a joke these days. Only install drivers from the vendor website. The Omega drivers were only ever the exact same drivers with some settings changed, anyway - so there's zero chance of them preventing a BSOD caused by the official drivers.

It's all subjective - personally, I find Logitech gaming mice very uncomfortable as they are all in the ergonomic style, which I can't use at all. The way I hold my mouse (apparently known as the "claw style") means that I basically need an ambidextrous mouse to be comfortable. Razer is the only company I know of that make decent ambidextrous mice, so I tend to favour them.

(Edit: I stand corrected, Huntey's G3 link above seems to point out one of the few ambidex Logitech mice. Think it's an old model though, so it'd be hard to find.)

Point I'm trying to make is that you can't rely on the biased opinions of others to make your own decision - because there's a possibility that it might be the exact opposite of what you want. You should have a look around, try some mice out, and see which one you like best. A mouse is not something like a monitor or CPU that works exactly the same for everyone.

Depends on what you want, really. Do you want a gaming mouse, do your prefer wired or wireless, and do you prefer ergonomic or ambidextrous mice? How many buttons should it have?

Instead of asking people what their favourite (i.e. their current) mouse is, provide some parameters so that people can actually help!
