I liked the map, but yeah, if that was the ending, next time at least give it a fade to black. Is there only one rat?

Enjoyed this map too. The combat was fine, the less the better because the enemies are boring in HL2. I really wanted to explore that forest though, invisible walls never help. I could not get the citizen to follow me, or was that intended?

Looks like you still left one entity with fluorescent.wav. It's not a big deal but consider that my server already has sound/ambience/fluorescent.wav and I don't know if it's the one you intended, but it would get propagated to other players. That's a minor issue but what if someone's server does not have it, and one player has it and another does not, then the one with it will be at a disadvantage having more difficulty hearing someone else's steps. And Half-Life does not complain about missing sounds like it does about missing models or sprites.

Awesome map. Although you forgot to bundle sound/ambience/fluorescent.wav. Some Half-Life fanatics like me have memorized every single file that comes with the original game but that's quite inefficient. resgen has a command line switch to exclude the default files: RESGen.exe -b rfa/res_valve.rfa. Then the .res file should list only custom files used in the map.

I would prefer a community where nobody says thanks over a community where anyone is forced to say thanks.

The transparent texture for the holes on the shotgun looks a bit bad, I would rather see some low poly holes but I think there should not be a problem with more polygons. Half-Life originally doesn't have models with transparent textures too, since transparent textures for models were added to the engine with a certain patch.

The field of view trick was probably more useful back in the day when monitors were very small, since if you used a natural field of view on a small monitor, as in the game looking like the real world, you would end up with a tiny field of view and see very little of the world. Nowadays when many people have big monitors, setting the field of view to a realistic one should get rid of things looking small. Not for me though, I'm stuck with a 17 inch one right now.

Wow, what's with this renaming? The old name was witty and funny, now it's disgusting. The old name by the way was "Hunt Down the Semen". And there's nothing wrong with it, first graders should be taught what semen is.

I really hope this was not a request from the staff.

I broke it too by pressing the elevator button before taking the suit.

You wasted a lot of hard drive space by including those .wad files, you should learn to use wadinclude compile option, then unused textures will be stripped.

I found it amusing. It's not that bad. There's voice acting, teleporting monsters, backtracking, scripted sequences.

I answer mapping questions for decades and I don't mind if they never thank. Someone else might ten or twenty years later. But only if you use the forum, not that disposable abomination. Evil is both. Too many rules are creeping upon people these days. Rules that are completely useless, dictatorial and rude. If you want to educate people on social behavior then become a kid's teacher in the primary school.

I'm directly telling you your behaviour is wrong and I don't care the slightest bit if you change.

If there is one thing that is harming TWHL, it's the use of that disposable pile of crap called Discord.

System Error

The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

That's on Windows 7. Why is the executable so massive?

The world should have stopped doing business with both Ukraine and Russia back in 2014 when the plane with 300 people was shot down. Until they figure their stupid conflict out, admit who's fault it was, apologize to the entire world and promise not to fight. But that wasn't going to happen, because there's too much money to be made.

I really enjoyed this map. The setting has an interesting feel to it. I had some big frame rate drops in certain places, what could be the cause?

What I really disliked about the previous competition is that it was extended on the last moment. That was really not nice. Some participants might have been getting out of their way to finish it in time, and then suddenly all their effort turned out to be unnecessary. I understand why it was done that way, to encourage mappers to work faster, but it's inconsiderate, if it's extended, it should be done at least a week before the original end date.

A very well made map, although it's not a great idea to allow the player falling off to death in one place and putting an invisible wall in another place, when the player expects it to be consistent everywhere.

awkook, I know I made it too confusing, sorry. Well, you need to raise steam pressure before firing it. Also, a valve is open when it's parallel with the pipe.

Are you 29? Congrats if that's the case. Had to look that up, my chemistry is rusty. Or is it physics?

Cooking with hot sand is quite common. I've seen peanuts being roasted in sand, and rice being popped so it becomes like popcorn. Or maybe it was salt? Copper sure is nice. Good for heat sinks as well.

Cool bike! take care riding it

it takes a few hundred MB ram to display a simple html page. What is this madness? Back in the day the entire OS would run on 256MB just fine and youtube on top of that. Now that is unacceptable. And it's good to know you don't have to update it because the last time i installed firefox on windows, updates were impossible to turn off and you had to keep declining them every 5 minutes.

Super cleanly mapped and original. worldspawn also has a chance to be at the top of the scoreboard in this map. Gameplay is good even though it lags on my crappy computer, makes me want to get a proper PC... Love the chains too. I still wish the lower interiors had a bit more contrasty lighting.
