before asking a question try to find out the awnser yourself (learned the hard way)
wat doese milter mean?
Did you try and find out the answer yourself? Look what the dictionary says:
miter

Mi"ter, Mitre Mi"tre, v. t. [imp. & p. p. Miteredor Mitred; p. pr. & vb. n. Miteringor Mitring.] 1. To place a miter upon; to adorn with a miter. ``Mitered locks.'' --Milton.

2. To match together, as two pieces of molding or brass rule on a line bisecting the angle of junction; to bevel the ends or edges of, for the purpose of matching together at an angle.
It means to make a 45* angle on your corners, in mappers' terms. Some people seem to think it reduces lag.

It's called ZHLT, toonton. You do not need ZHLT.wad to use the origin texture, it's in halflife.wad .

Your origin brush is the point upon which your train will rotate, and without one it's origin is at the center of the map.

Skyboxing creates voids
Well, no, skyboxing creates sky :P . The bad thing about skyboxing is that VIS thinks you'll see the sides outside of the actual map that are only visible to the skybox, so it renders them as well, creating unnecessary polys and upping your r_speed count significantly.

To expand upon Seventh's subst suggestion, what I've done is made a batch file with the following contents:

subst G: C:ValveSteamSteamAppsRabidMonkey777
subst H: C:ValveHammer
subst I: C:SierraBlue-Shift
subst J: C:Editing

This file is in my startup directory as when you shut down your computer, the current substs get erased, and it makes it convenient to just run G:half-life instead of having to type C:valvesteamsteamapps etc. each time I need to get into the HL dir. I've also substed my Hammer, Bshift and Editing dirs for convenience :) .

Why not add some related signs to what the place would be - maybe a sign for the supervisor's office or something in the room with the truck with instructions for the driver? I'm not sure...

http://www.emedco.com is a sign manufacturer and has a number of little thumb images that might be good for inspiration/modification.

G_KID, it's possible for a CT to camp in other maps and have the game take forever...I can name a few official maps where this is possible (namely Italy and Airstrip)

You forgot to include indy.wad - oops.

Overall, it looks good in terms of brushwork, I can't rate textures as they are nonexistent with no indy.wad.

There was one area, by the water, where sprites weren't being rendered correctly, and there was no trigger_hurt brush in another area to stop me from walking right out onto a sky brush.

It looks best suited to a DM map at the moment, and seems like it'd play well as one also. It's off to a good start.

You don't need to delete them from the wads, the issue the game is having is that there are too many textures placed in the map. Narrow down the number that are used in the map.

Click that camera text and select 3D textured. I think that might solve the problem, if your 3D view is Wireframe.

If it's already set to 3D textured, you need to select a texture, and right-click on a face or select a face, select a texture, then click Apply on the Texture Application toolbox.

in What causes the "no cells found" error Post #50991
It uses WC 3.3.

No cells found, to my knowledge, indicates that, rather simply, there are no cell entities in the map. Swat3 needs these entities to function as they seperate rooms from each other or something of that sort. I'm not experienced enough with the SW3 editing process to tell you how to use cells and fix this problem.

The biggest Swat3 editing community, which also happens to be the official one. They can probably answer your question.

Er, you cannot load log files into hammer.

You can load something called the pointfile into Hammer 3.5beta to trace a line to your leak. You can also do this in-game by running HL with -particles 10000 and typing pointfile in the console once your map is loaded.

If this doesn't track your leak so you can fix it, check to make sure all void facing brushes are not entities.

in File converting (.bsp to .rmf) Post #50977
Would i be scum, let's say if i wanted a light prefab from t0a0d
and i had to decompile the .bsp to get it?
Don't do this!

When a map is decompiled it turns those simple one or two brush shape lights into multibrush lights thanks to the BSP process, and will cause invalid solids and the like. If you want a light prefab, build it yourself.

Just to test this, I made a map, decompiled it and used a prefab from it and took the same prefab, uncompiled and placed each in a seperate room. The one that was decompiled created about twice as many r_speeds. That should explain why it's bad to decompile and to use bits of decompiled maps.

Anonymous, a Google search returned some useful information/links to decompiler programs.

Looking good!

One thing that catches my eye are some of the outside buildings, and some of the inside concrete areas...they look too flat/bland to me but if you added a small sign or light or decal to them they would look much better, without increasing r_speeds too much.

Yes, though it involves the clipping tool.

By clicking on the tool in the toolbar it changes the clip mode, from alternating which side to hack off to just splitting the brush. Keep that in mind and I'm sure you can find a way to make it work.

Most mod creators don't work for money. Natural Selection, The Specialists, SI, SC, you name it, were made for the mod community in mind and not for money. However, Counter-Strike started off as a mod without money in mind as well, and was purchased by VALVe.

What I'm trying to say is that mod teams don't work for money, but if your mod is of excellent quality (ie CS quality) and is very popular, it may be considered for purchase by a publisher/dev such as VALVe.

2 - Hint Brushes could solve your problem if used correctly. If I read correctly, you say your floors are func_walls? If that's the case, un func_wallify them.
