Nope. He could've waited a few more months. Sandy-Bridge is coming. I actually think it''s going to be released this month(5th January).
Well anyway gj for your purchase. I'm just saying you could've waited a bit more.
A note here: Sandy Bridge is going to mop the floor with the Westmere(or Nehalem, or whatever) architecture. I've read that it's possible to overclock it to almost near 5ghz on air cooling.

Meh, I didn't want to spend any more than I had to on this and tomorrow VAT goes up to 20%

Striker, i really don't think it matters, it may be more powerful, but it's just a toy, what he's got already is good enough for general use.

Just a toy? What do you mean?

Wow, VAT goes to 20% in UK? That sucks. In our country it's 24% I think.

I'd say that's a bit better than "general use"

damn son, that's a beastly rig. I can't wait until I join the duel vid card club.

Unfortunately i'm going to need an almost complete system rebuild until i can enter the dual card club as well.
Gonna slap a quad core in my mobo and 8g ddr3 ram. Should last me til 2015 hopefully.

Striker, it's like somebody buys a 2005 car that runs perfectly fine and then saying "OH MAN YOU SHOULD HAVE WAITED A EXTRA WEEK YOU COULD HAVE GOTTON A 2012 SUPERCHARGED CAR WITH THREE THOUSAND RPM", regardless of the fact that the speed limit is only a fourth of what the car can do.
Commented 13 years ago2011-01-02 19:42:52 UTC Comment #43030
three thousand rpm?
or do you mean horse power?
because i'm pretty sure all cars go up to 3000 rpm =]

That is a beast!! IT WILL OVERPOWER MY SYSTEM!!!!

Umm, so will you consider a trade? :P

So when are you getting it?
Commented 13 years ago2011-01-03 14:11:01 UTC Comment #43026
2 - 3 weeks it should arrive. I picked up an 8GB USB drive so I can start saving certain files (important docs, web designs, graphics and HL mods) in advance. Then just pile it all into the new PC once it arrives.

Wait, you ordered it built? From where?

pcspecialist.co.uk

Choose the parts, they build it, test it, QA it and then ship it.

@Rabid: It is the most comfortable mouse I have ever used. The humped back fits your palm nicely, the buttons are light and make rapid clicking so much easier, the button below the mousewheel can be pushed fowards / pulled back to alter sensitivity. Your thumb rests on the shelf on the left and you can operate the 2 thumb buttons with minimal movement required.

I'm yet to use it in any fast paced shooters but it does me well in Fallout New Vegas. I have assigned VATS targetting to one of the thumb buttons. I would never have dreamed of doing that with my old Wireless Microsoft Mouse (may it rot in Hell forever)

Need to get hold of a gaming keyboard to match now. :)

It's a truly amazing machine but that is a shitload of money to spend on a pc... i guess it will last you for a very long time tho, so grats! (jealous)
