Correct me if I'm wrong, but the FGD (not FDG) files and other configurations for TF2 haven't been released yet. As such, wait for an SDK update before mapping for TF2. Could be wrong.

Also, it's HALF-life, enough with your stupid 1/2 bullshit.

LOL I didn't see that ingame?
It's in the first (I think) "hidden" room, located behind a broken "wall-pusher" thingy. Err. There are a few of those in the game.
The backstory stuff is pretty neat.
I lol'd like hell at all the shower curtains. Awesome humour, on that page and throughout the game :) .

Is Mozzarella and Cheddar really all we have to choose from? Hell, we hardly even have (original) cheddar here, and mozzarella doesn't taste anything unless you cook it.

My favourites are Grev? (Emmentaler) or Jarlsberg.

Haven't changed any settings (except I mapped "forward" to d and "backward" to a) at all. Are you sure you can shoot both ways? Because it looks like you can, the bullets can be seen, but nothing gets hit. Try placing a func_breakable to the left of Gordon and see if he can hit it.

Screenshot a lil test map I made, yay. I must say, it is awesomely fun to map for.

One bug though... you can't turn around. I mean, you can walk the other way, but in-game, that's just walking backwards. The character turns, but his hands does not. That means you can't aim on anything to the left of the player... i.e. I couldn't kill that zombie.

Honestly though, we really need new regulars. If you don't use IRC, start doing so. It's quite addictive and not at all hard to get running (mIRC is a great client for windows). Even if you're not into religious debates, we also discuss everything anyone's ever thought of, as well as share warez, make incredibly politically incorrect jokes and generally have fun.

in Sven Co-Op vs Natural Selection Post #234984
Sven coop is a game that takes no skill to play, therefore, it is number one on my list of "Worst Half-Life Multiplayer / over hyped HL games ever".

I hate it with a fiery passion.
You're a god damn retard. Sven-Coop is about co-op, it's not a "skill-based" game.
I like both mods a fair deal. NS is the slightly more well-made and flashy one while SC has an, in my opinion, nicer and more open community.

in Advice on looking after your PC Post #234847
Playbus, you should really not post at all unless you can at least give some constructive advice. The only thing you've said so far as far as advice goes is "a firm understanding of exactly how the system works" - but no means of how to acquire it or what that understanding consists of. To be honest, you'd have been better off just not answering. You're very quick to point out that you're better than everyone else though, I'll give you that.

As far as keeping your system alright, though, I dunno. I'm not exactly an expert in the field. Use good spyware protection, keep windows' services clean, don't download dodgy software.

because of the age of the cpu, just check if its actually PCI-express.
Er... the mobo, you mean. A pentium 4 should be able to handle BioShock fine, games don't utilize that much processing power anyway.

Completely depends on your hardware. Check the output wattage of your current PSU and use one of the handy PS U calculators on the interblags. Nothing less than 450w I reckon.

in Looking to upgrade video card. Post #234165
Don't buy a DX9 card (GeForce 7-series or below). They're great now, yeah, and pretty cheap, but you'll want DirectX 10 in a couple of months. The reason that 7900 card is cheap is because no one's buying them. Everyone's waiting for the prices on DX10 cards to drop, and you should too.

Crossfire is ATI's response to nVidia's SLI - allows you to run two video cards at the same time. IMHO, don't get it. It's not worth it - getting 2 decent cards is incredibly expensive and the graphic output isn't good enough to warrant it.

I'd say go for either a nVidia card from the 8-series or one of Radeon's new DX10 cards. nVidia's gotten a better reception though, so go for that. nVidia has a bunch of cards that can do DX10, with varying specs - anything from budget to top of the range.

Looks like the backdrop of a hard core neo nazi band to me.
Here're some things that suck:
? The resolution. Shit's blurry and it just ain't nice.
? The icon or whatever. Just a random symmetric icon with red and white? Lame. Get something that actually represents the band.
? The eye. Worst cut out ever, I mean look at the right upper side of it, what the fuck. The actual eye COULD do if it weren't for the horrible lens flare, and the dastardly 4-colour gradient that compromises the shadow.
? The colours. Sepia red and gray, whoop de doo. Make something that stands out.

Things that don't suck:
? The font, I actually kind of like it. Too much whitespace between the words though.

What it needs: More grunge, less suckiness.

1.18 RAM? Care to add a unit to that? 1.18 Gigabyte ram is quite impossible, so try again. The compilers don't really require that much RAM (iirc), but Hammer likes eating away at it in order to display all those textures and shit.

And no, your map will likely not be "damaged" by the computer shutting down.

in Scientology: Exposed! Post #233326
srry, most people need it. Although some belive in a higher power called "science". So everybody belives in something.
Science is not a "higher power", nor is it a belief system. It's a process of acquiring knowledge through the scientific method. Logic, rationality, etc. It's not religion. Furthermore, people who "believe in science" don't swear by it like religious belief - they're not guided through life by their belief - they don't use it as a moral guideline - and maybe most importantly, non-religious people accept the fact that they might be wrong.
And it's a proven fact that people who belive in God, Jesus and all that have a much better chance of surviving diseases from wich you usualy die from.
Probably the most ridiculous thing you've said on these forums yet (and that's a feat). Source?
