I hate this name but unfortunately there is quite a lot synonymous with it. Even though I'm launching my platformer under the llc of Windlion which is a name I like alot.

And yes lol Legitskrieg.

I like Instant Mix's story. I think there's a good bunch of gamers out there that have done stuff like that. I used the one "too much sex" like "pwnyou345 was killed by too much sex". At least in Zelda I've used names like "what" "dude" "you ass" and "Megatron".

Rhyming Slang

There once was a man named Rick,
Who had a well endowed dick.
He got it caught in a bit of a spot,
which resulted in a little prick.
He tried to fuck his spouse,
but she left him and his house.
He became sad and his idea was bad,
and fell in love with a mouse.
This mouse would squeak and annoy,
and was no longer a joy.
The man changed his life and went under the knife,
to transform into Penguin Boy!

There once was a man named Urby,
whose trouser were a bit turby.
Archie bought roses and did sexy poses,
and later gave birth to Kirby.
They worked hard on the Core,
until their bums were sore.
When it comes out everyone will shout,
"Holy fuck we want more!"

Yo check this kickass shizzle,
for all mah peeps and nizzles.
I point to you my 42,
and cap yo ass for shizzle.

Moaby, I think a subtle blending of the fog and skybox would clean up the slight discoloration of the elements in the fog in the furthest parts in view.

Also those 4 stars in the skybox that are pefectly spaced apart and straight is bothering me. How odd.

I hafe the free fersion of Stencyl. You also DO NOT need to be connected to the internet to install it or use it. I made almost eferything I hafe so far completely offline. The only thing that you get from the pro fersion is pro support, and the ability to publish to iOS defices and smart phones which also costs more for development kits for those defices. The free fersion has a lot of good stuff and is practically the pro fersion anyway.

Despite the flaming at Stencyl out there, that comes from people who made games in flash before stencyl came around and the Arcade sites blew up with crappy clones of simple games coming from amateurs. With time and effort, you can make some sweet stuff, you can make anything!

Whatefer you choose to work with, I'm sure it will be the right thing for you and the game alike.

(My V key isn't working on this old keyboard... and if you're wondering, I typed that one using ALT+86)

After only 6 moths, Amy Sigil of the internationally renowned troupe Unmata, through an instructional DVD, inspired Lyssa to get up and dance again. Since then, she's met her hero Amy, danced with her as if she was one of her own troupe members, and Amy went with Lyssa to receive a prestigious tattoo of their troupe symbol, the Unlout. That's like going with Gordon Freeman to get a Lambda tattoo.
User posted image
Since then, she's never given up and has persevered through medical difficulties that still remain from her procedure. More recently, she's been passing down her knowledge and craft to students who have traveled hours from home just to learn from her. It is no wonder to me she's entered into a competition for the Ultimate Belly Dancer. She has the skill, talent, and inspirational force to win. With enough votes, she could gain the ability to travel with her teaching, and go out to California to study with Belly Dancer masters and meet up with Amy Sigil and Unmata at Hot Pots Studio.

Unmata's Awesomeness

I believe Lyssa wholly represents what an ultimate belly dancer is. She's in the fusion solo category (winner decided by judges), and also eligible in the people's choice category (winner determined by votes). Click the link below and LIKE with your Facebook account to vote. Wish her luck, and thank you very much for being awesome.

SO GO VOTE FOR HER!

Lyssa would like to say that she tips her hat to the TWHL community for being with her and I during the brain surgeries, and sending those amazing emails of support. She still has them in a folder in her email. You guys should feel special. She also is telling me that she will dedicate a dance piece to TWHL by dancing to a track from a Valve game. We'll have to fish out a good track from somewhere. She also says thanks. :)

I find it easier to do natural setting by doing all of the terrain, then place plants from smallest to largest. Also, use lots of blending textures and paint in additional textural variety. At least that's how I do it for L4D2.

I was already done with Poison Garden when the HLDM map compo started. It was sent in on the second day, and won first place anyway.

Should Iron Chef it and require a secret ingredient that makes the map valid, and the ingredient is revealed when the compo actually starts. Just a thought to fair things up. I've thought about starting early too, but lack the inspiration at the moment.

uhm... ok let's see... A Leyline is a flow of energy that travels through the universe. In some areas they are visible but mostly hidden and untouchable. The Leyline can be used as an energy source or a means of travelling from one exposed location to another, or possibly to other dimensions.

I can make an example map.

I have an awesome idea for a competition inspired by a book im reading.

it wouldn't be hard at all to organize, and would be fully compatible with both source and gold source.

the idea is the concept of a Leyline and the environment around it, which creatively could be anything in the world. The Leyline itself would be a model, and the mapper could rotate the model any way necessary, but could never change its size or actual shape. Would the surrounding environment be natural? A labratory? science fiction or otherwise? who knows.

Anyone like the idea? I can try and make the models.

actually, come to think of it, i never minded much of the star wars ship designs. I thought they seemed applicable and necessary. A star destroyer would probably be the right size and design for the kind of stuff we need. Glad you posted that one.

I take design from nature a lot. I think anything spherical could work. Being a sphere, you could slowly rotate the ship or parts of the ship to get the gravity. Possible, instead of pulling to achieve gravity, we can always push. perhaps a frequency of some kind pushes down on things from above on the ship?

I believe that the the first space craft would look like either two things: a saucer, or a giant version of the space shuttle.

An odd note, I saw an international mail air freighter on an airport along the way to the hotel im currently staying at. i couldn't believe how big it was and it was surprising. Later I thought that a spaceship would be 10 times that with all of the necessary things aboard.

I think its fine. I'm a fan of well lit areas and stuff, but if I were lighting it, I'd light the tracks, the large doors, the lab areas, and hang some larger lights from the top from those crossbeams visible from the screenshot. I'd let the light bounce and the shadows have fun on their own.

Stencyl, the kit that make it all possible, has a very visual way of coding in stuff. The end code is flash action script, but the kit allows me to drag and drop code easily. Still has challenges though.

Linking maps on my game used to be a pain in the ass and took a long time to calibrate. The level changing would send the player to exact coordinates that needed to be calculated. If the level changed, all linking needed to be redone...

...until I remade a 2D version of Halflife's landmark system and I fucking love it.

Before I release a demo, I may ask a few people to do some serious testing. I may also ask that they record their playthrough so I can see what went wrong exactly.
