source code is the code for half-life 1, theres a source code for every engine and application in the world. HL2 for some reason had its engine named 'Source'.

new weapons would definatly be good.

and on this site Rimrook is only the best mapper visually, followed closely by kasberg. and there are people better then both of them with ent work. and you really can't call anyone the best

i can see the problem, you have it running vis twice, check your build program setup and change the RAD one to HLrad, seeing as you can see that is currently set to HLvis, hence it makes vis run twice

no, in with ZHLT came a file called lights.rad, if you open it in notepad and add the names of the textures you want to emit light, then press tab twice and add its RGB and brightness values it will do the same thing. but the way in said tut is much better, and isn't that hard to setup if you just follow the tut.

Rabid, that file you sent me accaully cleared up a huge majority of the problems I was having running my old games on XP. it seems to me that Microsoft 'forgot' to add the file to the XP install disks.

well, i found the problem. in one of the really big rooms, you have a very small box attached to it. in that box is a path_corner and about 20 unnamed lights. that is what is causing your error. although i don't know if there is another of these rooms atached to the other big room

well, the best way to negate the pickup sound for the suit is to have a camera sequence start right off the bat. preferably one where the camera is doing something on the other side of the map so the player never hears the HEV booting while the camera is running.

But this only works well if you have the camera watching a usefull event, like a scripted sequence that tells the player about some plot element or something

fingers burnt by plasma streamer, ouch, buy yay. true story of my old tesla coil. it operated at 500Khz(or Mhz, can't remember) put out 32" sparks, and was very pretty. I had watched my physics teacher hold a paperclip in his hand and let the sparks form his coil, which mine was based on, go through his body to ground. he could do this becasue of the 500Khz frequency, which at that level had a high enough skin effect to just travel over him and not through.

I of corse forgot to use a paper clip, and when the spark (read ionized air, aka plasma) hit my fingers it left a very nasty burn mark and hurt alot. but I was still alive, a little bit of heat scaring can't kill you.

and that is my story.

m0p, ill see if I can get/ make some designs for a good guass gun that looks fairly like the HL one. and then impliment every thing my Guass gun resarch has taught me into it.

what are you using for the cap bank? what voltage is it at? and its capacitance?

what guage of wire for the primary coil?

Tiggering device?

what are you using for a barrel?

what are you using for the projectile?

why arn't you going to build the reverse railgun I designed (which eliminates the problems of one) instead?

you really don't need any multisources. you just need to have the button target a MM. which then targets the door then the pods. that way the pods don't start moving until the button is pressed.

in software the lightbeams didn't even display, but there was HEAVY lag.

in D3d every thing was fine until you walked through the beams, where some lag developed.

in OpenGL there was no lag.

and I never got that rainbow effect before, but then again this is the first time I have done a compile with Rad on a map with that many Func_illusionarys. anyone ever notice it before?

id wait for intels new line of mobil processing tech m0p. the Pentium M series is good, but very well might be eclipsed by it.

and I read something about them emiting lots of heat and was planning on getting this to counter that

try a deguass, that might help.

but if it doesn't then you might have a faulty monitor, or vid card. but im not a great techi compared to some on this site, so im sure one of them will have a better answer

huh, your not trying to run it in NT, but in XP?

if you can't that means its an old game, It gives you a 16bit OS error or the like. I have that same problem to. you need to read this
