all he needs 2 do 4 the elev is make the doors on the top and botom a big brush that streches 2 the top and bottom. texture it right, and u got elev doors that "move" with the elev. course lock em wen the elev's in use.
hmm...fiendish way 2 use the xen textures wihtout making xen levels... make the aliens drag u off 2 thier base/outpost in black mesa. just an old warehouse with xen stuff growing in it. course u dont need 2, but u was sayin how u thought the xen textures was cool. but remember black mesa got blown up, so make everything look nuked.

get spirit 2 make doors that move with the elev. problem is, u cant run spirit made maps in hl. do a search on google 4 "spirit half life"
make it a breakable and hav a trigger once/multiple that is not triggered by walking in2 it but when u go there in the func_veichle. then make the trigger once/multi target the glass which destroys it! that probably wont work but what the hell!
how bout a base map with a building and u hav 2 make it blow up the best.
spirit also has an ent u can trigger 2 change his side n stuff. like pick up gun triggers ent which changes barneys "reaction to player" from "normal" to "enemy"
