Regarding Models:

monster_generic, monster_furniture or a cycler will do. Although some have certain disadvantages and advantages over others (for example, only a cycler will stay at it's exact position, the other entities will pull their model down on the floor)

--From Captain P from an old forum post.

For Counter-strike, use the cycler_sprite.

As for the entry, I will upload it eventually. Since the close date, I've come up with some new ideas to remedy some of the problems I was having with it.

I must say I was upset when I first saw the results, noticing I did not place. However, after viewing the high quality, superior entries that did, I felt much better about losing.

Heartfelt Congratulations to Kasperg, Trapt, and Doodle! Really great job on all!

I can think of no good reason not to have a misc. links section, unless your worried about clutter. And clutter shouldn't really be an issue, since with only the categories you've mentioned, the list will be quite long.

There are always some weird, but important, related things that just doesn't fit into any other category. Besides, the name of the site is The Whole Half-Life.
Do not underestimate the power of the Misc. Links Section!

But since I fear change, I haven't used them at all, so unfortunately I can't help with this one. :(

There was one when you're underwater below the dam, and you have to open the grate thingies to escape through the turbines, and into the flood plain. They were probably used in other places, but I don't remember them.

PTS: Upload it, and i'll try if you like. I've never made custom sprites, so I have no advice really, except I've found sprites in genral can be unpredictable in nature.

For some reason when using sprites with env_shooter, some behave fine, and others shoot off in the wrong direction and display other weird behaviors for no clear reason.

in Could not open wad file Post #105730
I've had this exact thing happen to me. Make sure your hammer is pointing to the right location for your mod, and your wads are reside/and are used from that mod directory. If say, are making a map for counter-strike, but are pointing to a cstrike.wad from some location other than the conter-strike directory, it will say 'couldn't find wad.' like the error you got.

Also If you use a batch compiler, it will help you through this process. Google Nem's or HLCC compilation controllers.
