Daubster, you should try making your own, as it's suprisingly easy. The hardest part is the transition from one .tga to the other, but If I can do it, anybody can. Also remember to include the 6 .tga files with your map when you publish :P

There is an environment generator that makes the transitions really easy--terragen??--But it cost money, so I havent' tried it... :)

in turning a func_wall back to world brush? Post #103422
Also, Ctrl-W, same thing, little quicker.

Sidenote: Sometimes--At least with me--when you change a brush-based entity back to a world brush, Somehow, it still exists in Hammer as a 'ghost.' You find this out by hitting ALT-P to toggle the 'check map for problems' dialog box.

Then, you click on the entity, and hit the 'goto' button. If your screen doesn't refresh and center on the entity, it's a 'ghost' and can be deleted.

Hope Helps...

IMO, Everyone who said they would enter, should do just that. Who cares if it's not finished.

I've noticed that tons of people always say they're going to enter, and then drop out at the end. The more you do that, the easier it gets to avoid entering... :(

I'm intrigued...downloading the demo now.

I always used to see the box--the guy submerged in water with the mp5 who looks like Alec Baldwin--but I always assumed it was a cheap piece o' crap. Shame on me... :P

I checked it out and left some comments. And for the record this map is huge, and is complex in that you have lots of brush vertices showing at once.

Can we submit and get feedback on our maps up until the due date like my C++ prof does with our projects? I guessing a huge "HELL NO," but like I said, noob...

For some reason--for me, anyway--the compile log screen will 'stick' on base portal vis, forever too, but if you ctrl-alt-delete and kill hammer, sometimes you will see that the bsp was created anyway, with the changes you made.

So, run the map and see if it actually compiled. Also, should be noted this only happens on huge, complex maps, and I don't think it runs RAD.

Yup, you need the console to play your custom games. Since you said you checked the "How do I run an HL Map(.BSP)" tutorial, just post exactly what you did. Should look something like this:

Entered console,
Typed: MAP MYMAP<enter>

And still, no montsters showed up...

If this is what you did and it's not working still, you could upload it to the 'Problem Maps' Section.

My Dad Builds houses, and he saw this thing on the Discovery Channel, where you can punch in blueprint info, and it automatically produces a 3d equivalent, that the customer can 'walk' through.

I'm Guessing it's Autodesk VIZ, or something like it, combined with other programs. Anybody have any experience/advice on this?
