Nice models! Granted, the final character needs some work, as does the texture work on the MP5. It looks like it was forged by a blacksmith in the iron age. :P

A trigger_teleport is required to send the player to an info_teleport_destination, yes. If you want to send the player to a destination when they press/shoot a button, they need to be standing inside a trigger_teleport that the button then turns on. As the notes on the entity page you link said:
To make a trigger_teleport toggleable, use a multisource master. Trigger this master with a button or multi_manager or something to activate it. When the master is inactive, the teleporter will be as well.

This is what happens when you work too darn quickly. :P

Seriously though, I envy the people who can pour so much time into maps/mods nowadays. The Core would certainly be out by now if I hadn't got a job and a family and all that crap.

Between work and kids, I need that extension if I even hope to commit something to this project. :P

Were there any snarks?

As for me, I've checked out WRATH: Aeon of Ruin and Disco Elysium with my Christmas Steam cards. Highly recommend both. The former if you like your retro "boomer" shooters and the latter if you want a really exquisitely written point and click adventure/RPG.

Seriously, I thought The Outer Worlds was one of the better written games of the year, but DE shits all over it and it is utterly hilarious. Just don't expect a combat based game and prepare to read a whole lot.

I think Gunman Chronicles is ultimately owned by Valve (there was some sort of partnership I think) but it was nearly 20 years ago.
The only connection to Valve is the GoldSource engine it was built upon. The custom code and content was property of Rewolf, which was little more than a mod team that was funded by Sierra. Like most mod teams, as soon as the game was released, the team was disbanded. Presumably the game and its content then officially became the property of Sierra in order to work on post-release fixes and patches. Sierra has since become a part of Activision Blizzard.

Wherever the source code and copyright for Gunman Chronicles are nowadays, you aint getting either and it certainly won't be coming to Steam.

in Youtube or Vimeo? Post #343481
Fact of the matter is, YouTube is the top pick for viewers currently and something quite drastic would need to occur in order to change that. Same way Google has become a general term for searching online, despite the vast number of search engines. The same way that Twitch is now the place to go for streams (though YouTube has a fairly big slice of this action as well)

I know that artists are getting shafted left and right and a lot of them now depend on Patreon to make an income. I've heard of other services pop up such as GorillaGong for machinima videos, but can't say I've ever checked them out for any length of time. However, for those not making a living off of it, YouTube is probably still the place to go.

Vimeo I've only ever seen used by our clients at work to host videos that are then embedded on their websites/product pages. I can't say I've ever followed anyone on Vimeo.

The Talos Principle is in my Steam library and I don't recall how or why... I might have bought it based on recommendations or it might have been gifted. Either way, I checked it out on my Birthday for about an hour. That was back in October. Can't say I've been particularly drawn back to it as of yet.

One game I will repeatedly and whole-heartedly recommend is Hollow Knight. If you like your challenging combat and your Metroidvania games then I would say it's one of the best out there having played a grand total of... this one. My personal favourite game of 2017 and the sequel Silksong is on the horizon. :D
Also, that soundtrack

Half-Rats: Parasomnia, a lot of players played the game and stopped because it was either "too hard" or "lost". I guess this means that players are way too much used to navigation assistance (beacons, quest markers, GPS...) and no longer have the desire of exploration and a sense of orientation.
As somebody who adores exploration in games (I'm still playing Skyrim), Parasomnia is one of many games that I just stopped playing. I'm not a particularly big horror fan though. I enjoyed A Fever Dream (Played it through three times), but I guess that's because it simply plays like Half-Life with a schlocky horror parody theme, much like the They Hunger series.

HR:P just didn't make as much of a lasting impression on me, so I stopped.

While you might be able to recreate the environments from HL:A to create a traditional flat FPS, it would be an entirely different game with a lot of the interesting elements stripped out.

Where VR requires that you "physically" manipulate the environment around you in order to solve puzzles and interact with switches and doors and such, a non VR port would just be a case of pressing your use key at things and watching them play out.

While I still believe that everything to do with VR so far could be dismissed as gimmicky tech demos, this is the first game that has proven to me that VR is a worthwhile investment. With two more full size games in production at Valve, this could well be leading to the turning point where VR developers truly step up their game.

I tried to play Dead Space but really wasn't into it. Horror is probably one of my least favourite genres though.

I just burned through my weekend with The Outer Worlds though, RPGs being my absolute favourite genre. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys RPGs and has felt a little let down by recent titles. It's by no means perfect, but it's damn good fun.

The Outer Worlds drops on Friday at midnight and I am so pumped. The reviews so far have been very positive, with the only real negatives being that it sticks a little too close to it's Fallout roots.

in Hammer Editor problems... Post #343238
I guess I'm just used to JACK's quality of life changes after wrestling with Hammer for nearly 20 years. Even just seeing the render effects and transparency in the editor stops me from compiling windows and railings with the wrong settings. :P

I was under the impression that Hammer couldn't handle more than 8 wads before things started getting screwy.
monster_urby monster_urbyGoldsourcerer
This will be a problem with the trigger_changelevel entity setup in the map. If this has been setup incorrectly, the player can spawn outside of the map which can sometimes kill the player. This can often be due to a missing info_landmark, which is what determines the players position when the new map is loaded.

If this is a mod you have downloaded, there is no way to fix it unfortunately. It would need to be fixed within the map by the original author and recompiled.

A good deal of custom code I imagine. It's not standard functionality for Goldsource.

I used Milkshape previously, but never registered it. Given that the site hasn't been updated since 2013 and there are no obvious methods of contacting the author (not to mention the "strictly no refunds" policy), I would suggest that it might be worth getting to grips with Blender instead. Yes, it means learning a new toolset, but it's very compatible with GoldSRC models, is open source and still actively being developed on top of being totally free.

It's pretty funky, but I'm really only into the (mostly) vanilla experience with Minecraft. I know that there's a ton of mods out there, but I can barely get my head around the existing stuff, and I like the blocky aesthetic.

Same with Bethesda RPGs and stuff really. I only really go for the low impact mods that fix glitches, improve the look slightly or include QOL changes. Nothing game changing.

Dunno why, considering how much I enjoy total conversions for GoldSRC and Source... but then I never liked things that change the base game for those either.
