The field of the cascade is expanding as we speak.
The resonance cascade was contained within the regions of Black Mesa. The "satalite delivery rocket" is what actually triggered the portal storms which engulfed the planet.

<<EPISODE 2 SPOILER>>G-Man may have given the sample to the science team and caused the resonance cascade but...come to think of it, Freeman fucked things up pretty bad by launching that rocket.

You could purchase weapons in a shop but only be able to use them at a certain level. Their damage should be down to:

A) The weapon itself
B) The players level

Thats how every RPG I've played works.

Its gonna get real awkward when its time to take the masks off. It'll be like the X-Mas avatars slowly changing over the course of the New Year. Who will be the first? Who will be the last? Who will ask how long this will go on for?

Also, if you're taking suggestions still:

Customizable Freeman
  • Hair Styles (including facial)
  • Hair Colours (including facial)
  • Accessories (Hats, Glasses, Scars, Piercings)
  • Skin Tones
  • HEV Colour
I'm sure this could be achieved using multiple textures, sub models and overlays. :P

If you make a lot of SP maps with the same theme and plot, you can somehow find a way to tie them together into a map pack. And from there develop it into a mod. It's always good to take smaller steps to a big result.
That's what i'm doing with Castle disposed.
It was originally meant to be a few individual maps with a central hub, but that didnt work out the way i wanted it. So i collaborated it into a mod!
Thats exactly how KingDaniel developed Life's End.

I downloading Sven-Coop now so I can take a good look at the entities (The entitys get shagged in Hammer if I open it with the Half-Life setup) but if you get the same problem when mapping for other games as well then I'm guessing that either:

A)You're doing something that you haven't told us about

or

B)Your PC has issues with Hammer.

Also, this is a very strange problem, unlike anything I've ever experienced before myself.

Have you tried mapping for other games (HL1 or Counter Strike) to see if the problem still exists with their fgd's?

Yeah, because you are actually moving the entity it stays where it lands. Like you said, the only real solution would be to carry the entity back to the box. Glad it worked. I just hope it won't hinder the player in any way.

The entire lab seems to be surrounded by loading bays and tunnel networks which are often dark, damp and a direct contrast to the bright and shiny steel corridors of the complex itself.

Basically, make the place feel big and expensive with nondescript machines and entire rooms dedicated to secure storage and such.

I'm running WinXP and have an ATi Radeon HD 4670 and I can tell you know that downgrading the drivers made no difference for me at all.

The so called "Fix" that you can get for Hammer also caused my PC to lockup and reboot.

This is what I had to do. Open Notepad and save a blank document in your Hammer file. Save the empty document as: atioglxx.dll

This means you can now select in the 3D view but as The_(c)Striker mentioned earlier it can cause some pretty horrible framerate issues when your map starts to build up. It can become very frustrating.

(Like i said, I'm running XP so I couldn't tell you if this works in Vista)

I'm actually saving up for a tiny Eee PC which I will run with WinXP just so that I have a machine that I can map on. (That way I can also work on maps at work while on breaks)

My 2 days off in order of events:

Tuesday:

09.00 Went into newcastle, bought soup
09.45 Got text from friend "Boss wants your CV. Send e-mail"
12.50 Got home sent CV in email
12.55 Got phone call, arranged interview for 10:30 Wednesday
13.15 Called Vets to book in kitten. Got appointment for same day! ^_^
16:30 Took kitten to vets. He's healthy.
17:50 Feeling lucky, tried to fix TV aerial (broken for weeks)
18:55 Shouted at cables
18:57 Fixed it

Wednesday:

09:00 Left for Shrewsbury.
10:30 Interview started.
10:35 Interview ended.
10:40 Got set up for a test. (build a website) PC's with Dual 25" monitors.
14:20 Got Lunch from McDonald's. Ate at desk.
16:10 Finished website.
16:11 Got Job!
18:05 Got home. Masturbated furiously.

I think the lambda complex was pretty much covered in Half-Life 1 so I don't think there is really much left to see.

However I think I recall a section of the complex appearing in Life's End.

Another issue with the bots is that they can see through the vine tunnels in poison garden.

I'm working on a new DM map. Got myself some Quadrille graph paper especially for the occasion. :)

Also, don't forget about the custom TWHL member player models. The current zip contains Urby the Grunt, Hitman Huntey and Professor vs49688.

(if you do not have these models the players using them show up as orange HEV dudes)

Remember, if anyone wants a custom DM skin/model made just let me know. I can use facegen to add your actual face onto one of the PS2 DM models as well if you please.

If you want a model with your face you need to choose a body:

Scientist, Security, Hgrunt or HEV.

I also need a 2 photographs of your face (1 from the front and one from the side.) Photo's need to be straight on with a blank expression (expression of your choice can be added later) and no hair, glasses or other objects in the way of your facial structure (again, these objects can be modelled on later if you so choose.)

Also, I can't model hair all that well so you may have a hat. :rly:

My favourite feature is the option to use multiple skins or models for certain NPC's. Rather than having hundreds of identical barneys in each map you can create variety's with minimal effort (depending on modelling / skinning abilities)

My current Black Mesa based mod (Complex Opinion) will have security guards from different sections of the base in alternating uniforms with letter codes on their armour. :)

I watched myself get eaten by a shark twice in one night. I decided to stay up after the second time.

Apparently seeing a shark in your dream is a sign of stress and seeing yourself killed in a dream is due to feeling overwhelmed. It happened during a week where I was temporarily manager of my department.
