A lot of stuff was removed after the source code leak. Thank the hacker who's now residing in jail.

Funny story about that, did you hear how they caught him? Gabe Newell managed to contact him via email and pretended to hire him to work at VALVe for security of code and stuff. So the guy, being incredibly ecstatic, jumped on a plane and flew to America where he was met by police as soon as he stepped off the place.

No, it's not, I assure you. If you're running it off a new computer, Steam should realise that the updates aren't there and will proceed to update them. This is what happened when I formated.

What happens you run the games? Right click the game in Steam and go to Properties and check: does it say 100%? What about the other games? Do they load fine? Check the Steam monitor as well to see if anything is updating. Otherwise, be glad it was done in 5 minutes. ;)

Hammer should auto-configure itself, so after you compile, it should be all ready to run. I suggest ticking "Don't Run the Game" and loading the map manually, as it'll give you time to shutdown the resource hogging Hammer.

Does that mean we should be given free reign over when we die and how? Does that mean that because it's inevitable we should all be issued with devices of destruction so that we can quicken the process?

If there weren't any guns then you wouldn't need to protect anyone would you? It reminds of that Itchy and Scratchy cartoon where they each keep drawing out larger and larger guns until Scratchy gets blown away. That's exactly what's happening over in America. You need a gun for protection, so the would-be crim gets a better one. You hear about and get a "better" one in the interest of safety. Hell, I wouldn't feel very safe.

Like I said earlier, I cannot see another use for the gun at all. Why not ban swords? Your chainsaw/car/knife example is useless: they're all used for other purposes and not solely as killing. The hundgun can ONLY be used to destory something! I mean, come on, would you use a gun to nail something to word? A gun to cut down branches and trees? A gun to chop a piece of meat?

Sorry, but NO ONE has given me a dignified reason why guns are needed apart from "to hunt", which, might I point out, is a form of killing! And don't say something pathetic like to liberate other countries or I will get very pissed off.

If the guns weren't there in the first place, then how could a criminal come in with one?
There'd be a lot less crime, that's for sure.
Have you not heard the statistics that people owning guns for 'protection' are far more likely to kill members of their own family than marauders?
Very, very true. It just makes you more paranoid, more likely to resort to an instinctive motion, rather than an educated decision.

I honestly cannot see a proper, dignified reason why guns are needed. Sure, perhaps you take gun safety seriously, but I bet there are about 200 others who don't.
The thing is, with those tools you mentioned, they aren't seen as weapons. Why? Who wants to see an action hero fending off enemies with a torch? I think entertainment and the media also has a impact on the whole weapons issue: the handgun is seen as the tool (and, let me add, the only tool) to exterminate "forces of evil".
I stand by original comment: that guns merely give the user a sense of power. I also think classifying it as a tool is a way of covering this up. I'm not directly including you HrnyGoat, as you said, you are extremly careful with safety which I'm glad to hear.

The people who use it for sport are far and few in-between. Perhaps it's the sense of power that comes with firing a weapon of such destructive power. Video games are another thing, but I wouldn't exactly condone the use of weapons to "hunt", or for casual sport. How do you think accidents happen? School massacres? Bowling for Columbine had a story in it that involved a kid who was about 6 or 7 years old who managed to acquire a handgun stored in his house and fire it at another student.

America has the largest death rate by means of a handgun or similar. What does that say about this so-called tool? A hell of a lot in my opinion.
