Compiling one of my maps and when it gets to the RAD lighting section it says "WARNING : swaptransfers : unmatched."

The map still runs but i dont know if this will effect it as it develops. What does it mean? :confused:

Story so far: As of yet this is the story so far. (if you hadn't gethered)

You are the good old hero of the BMRF incident. Having just undertaken an apparently "rude awakening" you discover that you have been frozen. The base itself is in complete disarray and the only available help comes from a supercomputer by the current BETA name of Urbanebula 2000 (which will be changed) Your primary goal is to take the computers files to different portions of the base in order to ragain control and discover just what the hell is going on.

HL: The Complex (SP MOD)

and even sooner

HL: Manifestation (SP DEMO) may carry on after Complex is released.

The Complex is actually a mod i started for a friend but it seems to have carried on for once. Manifestation is gonna be 1 or 2 demo maps which may or may not be included in Complex. Watch this space. ;)

Sorry for dubbling but i didn't give a reason. :confused:

This way rather than spend ages to find a map with a good rating after loosing it among the worse ones you could simply open up the showcase and download all of the recommended maps. :lol:

What this site needs is a showcase for all the decend maps with ratings of like 4 or 5 (or just 5). Give the map a week or to in the vault and if its rating stays high whack it into the case! :P

Believe it or not they are actually scars.

I don't mean like "Check out my shrapnel scar" or "This is what happened when i braved the flames" kinda scar.

Its my "got frustrated before a GCSE exam and started pulling my spots off!" If was kinda gross at the time but it got rid of them. :P kinda

I don't like mapping for HL2. It aint the same. Its all just a case of props and physics. I'd rather build my prefabs that use a load of ready build models. :x

Plus the compile times!? JESUS!

I will only be releasing HL1 maps on this site because they are all i do. Maybe 1 or 2 helpful HL2 examples. Maybe...

Wow this mod sounds awesome. Just read this thread from begining to end and watched it evolve from an awesome HL map, to a decent sounding HL mod, to an incredibly eerie sounding HL2 mod!

Using a 3d skybox for the perimetre wall. That would be terrifying. Thinking back to how the Citadel dominated C17 but now it's dwarfed out by a bloody solid wall around this City?! ARGH!!!

Ah, I remember this kind of problem back in the days of WorldCraft 2.0. It was always a case of: "WHAT!? Oh man not again.I'll sort it out later."

I didn't of course. They all vanished into the packed out 'maps' folder never to be seen agian. Ah 'dm_snipers.' I remember you well.

I probably could make the map in HL2 but the idea seems boring now. :(

I've found out why I'm having difficulty completing any maps!

Textures! The HL texture packs are dull and boring and i can't help thinking 'I have seen this. People don't want this crappy dullness!'

Can anyone suggest a place or person from where or whom I can get some cool new .wad files. I tried myself but... :( It's not worth mentioning. I can make signs and posters. That is all.

After looking at Jahzel's new map screens and I realised what the problem is. I don't want another lab or office! I'm sure you guys don't either!

Monster_Generic. Model = Scigun.mdl

Use an MDLviewer (Jed's is the best) and browse the animation name for the gun. Make sure that the sci's animation and the gun's animation are set to idle animation and check the flag marked "No interruptions"

To make a scientist ponder over and over again try this.

Whack RAD up to full detail. It helps a little but the compile times are unbearable. To get some good lighting effects set the light further back into the wall or ceiling to get a sort of silouette effect on the opposing surface. ;)

Ok guys i have a question.

Aside from the hammer (worldcraft back then) tutorials what as the first map you ever made on your own. I remember i made a scripted sequence level that i just kept adding and adding stuff too. Eventually there was so much stuff going on it crashed my (back then low-end) PC!

I made a custom wad for my own decals. I created the image, made it greyscale, added it to wally and even put the blood red colour in the bottom right of the palette. Saved, spashed it onto a wall but i can't see it. GRRRR!

Please help.

I have just loaded up wally. Yay! I started a new texture. Fine and then suddenly! "BANG! Here's your greyscale palette Urban!" :P

All i have is greyscale. Where are the colour palettes?
