ok, maybe we should change topic to

Next-Gen Game Consoles - What are you looking forward to?!

;)

whoa, didn't expect people to have such strong opinions on this topic!!! :

EDIT: besides, in my mind, gaming should be fun, and not so serious! thats the whole idea. I don't want people swearing and kicking me if I do one little thing wrong. its these people that piss me off bad!

but I don't get it. Every1 has interest in revolution, yet it has no where near as much processing / graphics power as other two, and it has a light-stick, remote control, style pad. good and bad, but I think it should be sold as a seperate addition, and have a normal style controllor as standard. And the add-on analog stick is just, well, tacky!!

yeah, i agree that I would happily pick a pc over a console - but they have their differences, and the odd LAN party and over the internet just ain't enough / the same as a group of m8s messing around on a ps2!

sometimes I don't want to hack, change, mod, train, etc, a game, with the worries of it all going horribly wrong, I just want to play the bloody game!!! I think every1's got a bit too caught up in coding, etc, and actually forgotten what gaming is all about.

Game Consoles are meant for hard-core gaming, they are solely designed for that purpose - so, in many circumstances, they are fun, and offer countless ways to entertain your way through a summer holiday!!!

I know computers will always be the dominant piece of hardful in our lives, but it not perfect[i]. It wasn't designed for gaming, they have only [i]fairly recently had components adapted to suit gaming more. The only reason that they are so powerful is hardware creators saw potential in computers, - the fact that one machine could carry out so many different tasks, and jumped on the band wagon - forgetting where gaming should really belong -

ON A 32INCH+ TV, with a load of mates, surround sound, and shooting the crap out of every thing that moves!!! There's not as much of this excitement on computers except at LAN parties. You are playing solitery, in a world of your own. Gaming should be more about sharing your experiences with others, "WHOA, DID YOU SEE ME JUST WASTE THAT GUY?!?!" "HOW GOOD WAS THAT JUMP, HUH?!?" Not some obsessive teenager glued to a 17" monitor in a dark, smelly room, for days on end.

Console gaming is a group gaming experience, and that is something unique

Thankyou.

Revolution has as much processing power as my nan in the bath. Now that it is a piece of shit hardware guys. Think about all their consoles, only good enough to handle cartoon-style, los-poly games such as Big Mutha Truckas, and Crash Bandicoot!

PS3 has proven to be more powerful than ALL the next gen consoles - standard 60GB hard-drive, Bluetooth controllors. IT WILL PWN!!!

And are we forgetting that PS2 and PS3 do / will have online gaming... so it can be just a fun, and played long after completed. I stil sometimes play Chaos Theory (Splinter Cell) on PS2 now - you just have to avoid the fucktards that are on there 24/7 and cry if they loss. :D

sim card readers (for any sim) are bout ?10, and are little calculator looking things that you can 'bckup' your sim. atleast you can use it for more than one sim.

in SP vs MP Post #165133
SP, DEFINATELY.

some of you may remember my thread some time ago, - got a bit stressed at the constant income of mp maps in the vault... and surprise, surprise, that situation hasn't changed... it really pisses me off.

As G_Kid said, i love emmersing the player in a story... so you can get really involved...

...And a word to all mappers submitting crap CS maps... STOP NOW. they are shit, they are never going to get played, people don't care.

There is no skill in multi-player maps - and it is SOOOO REPEATITIVE

oh look i killed you, oh look you killed me. I mean, ffs, give it a rest. Theres no thought in the playing, not like in hl where you where like,

"mmm... the generator is off, and I need power. Arrghh, I must find the generator and switch it on!"

The bottom line is.... look at the vault, the first page, the last page. Look at the overall quality of the completed maps, the recent CS and DM maps are going down-hill, no thought, rushed, crappy layout, so why don't those people take a hint, and start on a good hl sp mod, or do an idea thats has never been done before.

Single-Player Maps and Single-Player Mapping PWNS THE F**KIN' ARSE OF ANY Multi-player map, STAT.

Thankyou
