It can't stop expanding, because the speed objects are moving away from eachother is increasing. However, if it DID come back to itself, it would form another big bang, which kind of disproves my other theory. I guess it doesn't make sense for either one to be true because they both seem right yet they can't both be real (ever expansion and a big bang-cycle)

If we know about the pointless galaxy, that knowledge could lead to other discoveries that are more important.

I also didn't mean to say "this is true" I was just trying to explain (a theory of) something really complicated. When I read your post about how there was no beggining and there will be no end to time, it made me kind of shiver. I can imagine quite a bit of stuff...but to try to imagine infinite time...there might have billions of worlds like us before, even trillions...quintillions of years ago! It's just unfathomable! I vote that as a true deep thought.

I found something faster than all of everything. DWDM. Fastest ever...10 terabyte speed. Beat that! ha! It's obvious that no single computer could ever use anything like an OC, they are ment for companies like verizon, adelphia etc. It's what they use to give you the internet you have.

I don't know what forum to put this in so...
Whenever I add a favorite into steam, the next time I run the game, the favorite is gone. But if I look at the servers from steam itself, I have all the copies of 1 server I've added over time. The same thing happens to my history page. Is this a general steam issue? I have a friend who has the same problem.

First of all I feel the need to correct some assumptions posted here. First out sun will not become a black hole, it doesn't have enough mass to supernova. It will however grow to be incredibly huge, engulfing our planet in the process. It will then gently die out, leaving a smoldering coal where it used to be -a white dwarf.

Our universe is not infinite. Space is infinite. Believe it or not, our universe does have an edge, but beyond all the galxies and such, there is just nothing, except radiation. At least that's all scientist can determine. Everything in the universe is moving away from everything else, which means the outer objects are moving faster and faster. We will never be able to reach or go past the edge of the universe. As the objects show no sign of slowing down, our universe will just keep on expanding forever because it will have no gravity to pull it back together again.

Aging is possible. It's just our cells getting fatigued. They have no concept of time, but they still split. Time just helps us measure things, like every unit of measurment we have. Although I wish we had like a metric time system or something, I think it would be easier to add+subtract etc. A meter does exist. A meter is everything contained inside the starting and ending point of the meter. A meter of cheese. A meter of grass. A group of people. Think of units of measurment as variables waiting to be filled with what you are measuring.

Time is a simple measurment as well. Time is how long it takes (how many radiation cycles) a cesium atom to go to a half-life or something. We use that as one second.

Kunkg fu and wushu are completely different. Wushu is meant to look exciting and cool, but is useless in a real fight. Kung fu can really kick someones ass. Wushu is basically fake kung fu, but it looks fun.

The Chinese were using noodles before italy. The chinese region was advanced way before mediterranean civilation.

Gunpowder was invented by the Chinese....der everyone knows this. Euopeans did NOT invent gunpowder. It's called trading...

Tribes were ruled differently based on where they were located. Greece had some very young people in power (Alexander), while the older tribes were usually controlled by older men. Some civilizations were governed by women, like the Minoans.

in New map,de_Dam with screen: Some idea&#3 Post #159636
If I were making this, I would make most of the setting outside, like the pic seventh posted. I think it'd be easier. Like have the cts and ts start at opposite sides, and the bombsite is like a turbine room in the middle of the dam. (inside) Or have the cts spawn in some brush near the other side of the dam, give the ts a head start. So much you could do with this idea. Get creative!

I bet this has already been done though..maybe

So what if he was kicked from the team. Because they thought he was stealing work, which they don't have proof of. They just assumed it becuase of some screenshots.

About the models though..it depends on if he released the maps or not.

I think to create a thread and further complicate things for no reason is rediculous. Show me a map on this site that's not his. If there isn't, then why the hell should anyone here care? It kind of looks as if you are so called "tattle-tailing"...sad.

I have a high tolerance for diversity. I don't really care what you believe, just as long as it doesn't interfere with me or anyone else that could remotely involve me in the future. I think it's wrong to ban, suspend, censor, or do anything like that based on religion. It's just wrong. I don't care what you think, by god if I want to read harry potter I'm gonna do it! Get outta my way bitch! I'll say the lords name in vain if I want to? Oh My God does it have anything to do with you?!

Now other people like islamic people I won't do that to..cause they'll probably kill me...lol

in GoldSource Mapping Tips Post #155974
I think I might be the only one who thinks this. but I think darker lighting and more gloomy settings make HL1 look more real. For some reason the lighting just works better with small gloomy lights illuminating a corridor than a few huge lights. In some places of the map I'm working on now you couldn't tell if it was HL1 or 2 from a screen shot. I'll post some later.

It helps when you have an idea for a map setting that you find a song that sets the mood you're thinking of and listen to it while working. Then you stay focused in that area longer and your maps turn out the way you want them.

For most of the screenshots I've seen with the light rays shooting down, I think you should back off a bit maybe. What those rays entail is that the air is foggy and the light is shining on it, but the air doesn't look that foggy. Don't make them so intense. Just imo
