Stairs? What's so hard about that? How about a 'model your house in Source' competition? So we could see how hard people try to get their house looking just right. Time to walk around with a digital camera to get some textures. Gardens are extra. XD

To be honest... Life's a b!tch. There's nothing more to it. It's just there. No one is perfect, nor do they have the perfect life. Perfection is impossible. Heh, you know what's funny. How easy it would be for the world to fall apart. Say everyone suddenly went blind....

...yeah, Day of The Triffids rocks.

My favourite games console would have to be the Source Engine console. It's so nice and grey and with the nice coloured text.

Geddit? Geddit?!! Hehehee.

Many people do that as their first site, anyway, what your site should do is show off things YOU can do. Things you have created, which can be anything. If you've done any HL maps, post them. If you've created anything you want people to see, post it there. Write articles, tutorials, anything on stuff. That'll get people visiting for a reason.

Whoah whoah. You've got two rooms right? You've drawn a brush connecting them? Good. Make sure the brush cuts through both rooms, then Carve, so the brush cuts a hole in both rooms. Finally, hollow out the corridor brush using a number like 32... 4 sucks.

You desperately should learn some CSS. It makes your sites much more beautiful and your HTML easier to maintain. Also, that site needs a background, or border, or something.

It's pretty simple once you get to know it. I was actually going to grab the source and make it more pretty and easy, but there you go... anyway. Press S to start the engine, forward to accelerate, back to brake, left/right to steer and A/Z to shift gear up/down. Use number keys (not numpad) 1-0 for camera angles. In-car camera is usually 0.

The Earth has a tilted axis, so when we have summer, we get more exposure and they're tilted farther away from the sun in the southern hemisphere, so... bla bla bla.

Hey there, I've been blabbing about this on the Shoutbox, but I wanted to get more people interested. It's an online-enabled driving sim. Open source with really good graphics. I wanted to rally around some people to come play online. I suggest getting the 1975 mini (see the download section) so we can all race each other.

Hey, it's not that hard. Get Source SDK, get Dev-C++, get the Visual C++ compiler and get Dev-C++ to use it, follow the guide I showed you, recompile and voila... you have a 3rd person Half-Life. Plug your level into this! :)

Hmm, well... you can code it yourself. If you've seen the Eclipse mod for HL2, you'll see the entire game is set in 3rd person. You'll have to mod it yourself I'm afraid.

In fact, here are the goods:

Just type thirdperson at the console. Type firstperson to go back to normal. You can't move the camera angle around though, so it's stuck behind you. I think you'd have to create your own mod and code the camera position in.

Yes, I gave it the right offsets and stuff, but it just wasn't right without the hinges and door frame. Maybe I'm using too antique a method. I never tried the prop_Door_rotating, I just attached a brush to func_door_rotating. I'll check out that tutorial too, thanks.

EDIT: Checked out the tutorial, brilliant! Just what I needed. :)
