Music or not, when I first played ResEvil1 I thought it was utterly boring. Those zombies were so un-intimidating, only made hard to kill by the fact that there was so little ammo spread around, and they usually took 7 - 8 shots from your slow firing pistol just to kill.

Plus, as you said, Camera = Shit.

Looks good.

IMO, this would be really cool if it was dusk in the map, with an orangey light_env and long shadows, but I know the Env Map your using wouldn't allow it.

I've made some pretty decent progress in the last few weeks. Most of the story/gameplay elements are now completely laid out, and I've begun texture artwork and soundwork. (Anyone up for some voice acting? :D ) Also, I've completed two of the weapon w_models, and I'm working on a fourth. Here are the completed ones (texts & basic model shapes by me, fine tuning by a friend from another non-mapping related site):

Whenever I insert custom models in a map using a monster_furniture or monster_generic, the textures become all warped when I look at them a certain way, and you can walk right through them. What is being done wrong?

God I hate Steam.

I recently had to re-install my retail copy of HL2 due to my system crashing and some files getting wiped. Everything copied from the disc fine, but when I went to put in my serial number, I was told that it had already been entered by someone else (even though I was using the same account I had previously registered on.) But I still have all the GCF files on my comp, so I was wondering, is there a way to run the game without Steam, using GCFScape or something like that?

If you have a model, such as a tree or bush, that has textures with pure blue parts that should be transparent, how do you make them work? Whenever I use them in a map, I always see the blue sections.

There is no way it would read the bsp and wad as one. That doesn't make any sense.

How big is the WAD that you compiled the others into? Are there alot of unused textures in it? Try getting rid of them.

When people use 10 different wads, take only a couple texts out of 8 of them and then -wadinclude 'em all.

This usually happens when you use 12 different wads, and you only take 3 textures from 10 of them. Whenever I make a map, I catalog all the textures I used, and then compile them all into one wad with Wally. Cuts the bsp size alot of times.

Your using 12 WADS in Hammer at once. This causes problems, you should never use more than 6 - 8.

Probably, if it's something concerning HL's files being corrupted. Just make sure you back everything up that your going to be deleting.
