Do you remember,
the twentyfirst night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing
As we danced in the night, remember
How the stars stole the night away

Ba de dah, say do you remember
Ba de dah, dancing in September
Ba de dah, never was a cloudy day

Ohh King Daniel himself here! Good work :)

I'm using WON HL 1.1.(something else) on Win XP SP2. This is the only time ever I've experienced this.

If only I could map for Source, I'd offer to help you port it to it. But... oh well. Maybe later.

I suppose I could follow srry's advice now...

Edit: And he was right. I found that it kept doing it if I loaded map 30 and continued up to 31, so I had to start right from 31. It turns out I was so close to the end!

The mod was great. Although the ending left me with a strange feeling of despair. Damn you, Daniel! :P

So anyway, dismiss my thread now.

Oh well. I found I can't load anything from map 30 on. Only save slots up to map 29 don't crash the game. If I'm lucky, like 1 out of 20 or 30 times it will load but I'll be stuck in the void with a tilted view, unable to noclip back to the world.

Whatever, there are other things I can do. It was very good up to this point.

in Life's end mod bug? Post #271745
Just did a search on the forum and found no topics about this.

I just came across this one on the Map Vault yesterday. It's great, and exceeded my expectations. But I've come across this strange problem where either HL crashes with Windows asking to send or not to send the error report - and I can't go on because that's all. WHAT the hell is wrong? I can't be the only one that has experienced this.

I've loaded an earlier save slot in case the last one got corrupted somehow, but when I get there it just crashes again and again. And then one time it didn't, and the level change took me to an off-world point with a tilted view angle as if I died and I can't even noclip off it. It's truly f'd up.

Screenshot here

This is in the transition from "le30" to "le31". "le30" is where the alternate universe lab is at.

Also, I just noticed a 101kb file that was created at the time of the crash, with the name "szwufkjaz, 0". Opening it with Notepad reveals random stuff and references to game entities and other stuff.

Scientist 1: Find me a Xen crystal sample and I'll give you this magnificent crowbar.

Scientist 2: The power is off in this complex so I can't open the secure storage room to give you this Xen crystal sample. I need you to get me a fully charged power battery from the prototype teleportation lab in section A-17.

Security guard: You can not take that battery away from the lab, it's a secure area. Oh I'm so thirsty, but I can't leave my post to get a drink...

Scientist 3: That vending machine only works with quarters. I have a couple here I could give you, but first I'd like you to do something for me...

in Modeling - Next step Post #271327
You have three models for weapons: p_(name), v_(name), and w_(name). So in your case it would be: p_glock.mdl, v_glock.mdl and w_glock.mdl you'd have to replace. p_ is the weapon you see in the hands of other players in multiplayer, v_ is the first player view of the weapon, and w_ is the weapon alone - for when it just sits on the world waiting to be picked up.

Hope that helps :)

But you don't know what's inside them! (would be great if they were filled with peanut butter eh?)

I don't mean directly "glow" effects, but it's name implies it... cycler_sprite, it kinda gives the feeling it's intended for sprites!

What would be the difference with using cycler instead of cycler_sprite? (Besides, of course, myself expecting cycler_sprite to make glow effects) Also, I don't have env_model.

Not a small can on the ground, but a pile of them would be kind of strange. Of course, I could put a clip brush around it then. But I still have the issue of it falling halfway into the table if I want it to "stand" :zonked:

Thanks. But it does the same. And it also creates a huge clip box around the can, like twice the size of the player! D:

in Using models Post #271024
I'd like to use some models in my map to make some stuff less blocky. But I have a few things I haven't figured out yet.

1. I placed a monster_furniture of can.mdl on top of a table, but it appears half sunk into the surface of the table in game, regardless of how high above it I place it in Hammer. I suppose it's because the origin of the model is at its centre... Am I using the wrong entity, or should I use something else like a monsterclip?

2. Say I wanted to change the skin of can.mdl, how would I do that?
