Well, I took out all of the models, except for the player models, and the sounds and sprites. Same problem. When I take out the player models, the game crashes when I try to load.

I just installed the diamond pack for Half-Life, and whenever I try to load a game, it stays at the menu and this shows up in the console:

Host_Error: PF_precache_model_I: Bad string

Any ideas on how to fix it?

I know I'm bringing back a dead thread here, but I'd rather not make a new thread on this.

Are there any free compilers out there that can handle the older code? I don't want to resort to piracy.

In certain points of Half-Life, there was an echo from your footsteps and weapons. How do you make that echo? If I'm not clear enough, tell me and I will try to give a specific example.

Ok,I have a func_train, and it goes down a dark shaft.

Before you guys eat me, I will say that I did search, and what I found did not work for me. I have a barney monster, and I want him do loop the animation, sit1, just like how it is at the very beginning of Half-Life. I run into a couple of problems here.
First, barney is in the ground when he is doing the animation. I have tried moving him up, but it is not working.
Second, the animation is repeating, but there is pause for a second where we stands up again before he repeats the animation.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Textures don't like me... Anyways, I am using the texture '-0crete6', and I get the textures aligned the way I want them in Hammer. When I compile and go ingame, it looks like this:

It is using the other variations of the texture for some reason. How would I fix this? Thanks.

Hi, I'm having a small problem here. I am making a door with the out_w8dr1 texture, and when I align the texture the way I want it, I find that the door is.. well backwards. I want the door knob to be on the left, but it is on the right. How do I flip the texture? I'll probably kick myself when I find out the answer... Thanks for any help.
