Not finished.

Getting pretty close to completion, I think.
It's a shame you can't submit, the lighting system looks a LOT better in motion then in still images.

For the record, I blame you guys for making me stay up all night working on this thing.
The nostalgic feeling is a feeling I'd only get from memories of being 8 years old on a old pile of shit Compaq that only had a gig of hard drive space free, staying up all night working on some wierd zombie map with impossible sentry bots, then going through leech infested waters to go up to a barney so I can make him press a button which sets off a bunch of explosions. I was so damned proud of that at the time.

God damnit, it's been too long.

Indeed it was a great opportunity Atom, Indeed.

Right on bro, I see you're learning really quickly.

Also, @Muzz: Would dual booting be too much of a hassle for you? It may seem a bit of a steep step, but perhaps installing 32 bit 7 alongside 64 bit could help you out a fair bit when it comes to compatibility problems.

in Playing demos. Not as easy as 123. Post #292561
So I fixed my problem with the C key [Just nuked my damned drive, full reinstall] and now It's a lot easier to access the commands useful for recording.

Now I've run into another problem, although I've been aware of it ever since I installed HL2.
I can record demos fine, but when it comes to playing them, it just simply crashes with a engine error, 'dispcounts X and X don't match.'
Unfortunately I have no idea why this is as it only happens in hl2, CSS records and plays demos fine, given I join a server first, otherwise I get the same error.

Lastly, keep in mind I'm not rich and don't own a top-of-the-line rig, so I am forced to play the '2006 version' of source, but that only affects my creditability.

To filter out possible answers that people might suggest:

Playdemo returns the same error.
play X returns the same error.
demoui returns the same error.
Shift+f2 returns the same error.
Playing a demo doesn't get magically fixed by how you play it, the game is still playing a demo, the UI you use to play it makes no difference.

lol go back to the stone age to get a single program to work.

Sounds pretty lame to suggest that to somebody, striker. Worse then 'vista' which apparently is so garbage, right?

For me Vista has always worked flawlessly, and infintely times better then 7. No compatibility problems like with seven which couldn't run shit, and windows 7 was completely unusable due to constant crashes, wireless disconnects, network problems, file sharing was an absolute BITCH to get working properly, and the instant I downgrade to vista, everythings fine again. Just because you're an idiot blind fed by money, doesn't mean something you tried once when ati and nvidia were sitting on their hands eating shit instead of actually getting the fuck up and making proper drivers for the new kernel, is shit.

The only 'garbage' in here is you suggesting somebody install an ancient operating system which shouldn't even be sold any more, let alone used for anything useful.

Also, I think you meant to type 'Windows'.

A texture made using the extractor tool, applied to a model with only 14 polygons. It may not look all that rad, but for small props and possibly map textures, it does a sweet job. Also keep in mind I have a lame camera, and, admittedly tried to take the pictures at the worst angles and lighting conditions.

EDIT: Turns out my camera was EXTREMELY out of focus, LAME!

Seriously, this program is freakin rad, you runnin x64 or x86? Tried running compatibility mode for vista perhaps? Got to get this working, bro, you're missing out a lot!

Not bad, a little imprecise and not as easy, but definitely worth it if you already have photoshop and don't want to buy texture maker, although the impreciseness is probably my fault.

As I said, if you can try to get Texture maker to work, it is piss easy and it spits out sweet results, photoshop is definitely rad if you can't get texture maker to work though.

Otherwise you can probably just use me by sending me images and demanding I texturify them or you'll ban me, that'll probably work too. :P

Haha, wow it even worked on my keys image, which is inclined and a lot of perspective.

Depends on the version, WON has no support for widescreen resolutions to speak of, but steam might have changed that, although I've never been able to get it to work in the steam version either.

I think it also might help you have a widescreen monitor as well, whearas if you have a 4:3 or 5:4 the game goes "Oh, why would you ever want to run widescreen resolutions? That's ridiculous" (Unlike source which allows you to select any aspect ratio regardless of monitor)
Either or, as I said, if you're going to do any form of video compositing in modern age, for lords sake do it in widescreen, nobody likes pillarboxed videos.

EDIT: searched it up on google, there is supposed to be a box to select your aspect ratio stuff, but mine doesn't have it, that blows!

One massive advantage to recording native is that you can record widescreen, and a hell of a lot higher quality than any camera pointed at a monitor, so if you do decide to start recording any form of gameplay [Or anything really], please future proof your stuff and record it in widescreen, otherwise you get a pillarboxed video and it looks terrible on youtube.

If you can't select widescreen resolutions [HL1] record it 4:3 and then just crop and letterbox it.

Also, what the fuck Hunter, 24 fps? For gameplay? Uh no. Not even with motion blur.

FRAPS isn't much of a screen recorder, rather been completely optimized for DirectX and OpenGL games, but screen recorders on the other hand fail epically at recording gameplay as they are not optimized in any way whatsoever for OpenGL or DirectX.

Either way, gamecam, fraps, playclaw, whatever works, huh?
