I dont think thats necessary...I mean, its not thrustworthy enough that a member deciding his own mapping level.
That is true, but others would know better. There would need to be little "qualifications" that describe what each of those levels are, and then there should be the admin option to disable/force a certain level upon someone.

Oh, and my bad seventh. =0

Did the idea for more preview screenshots of a map in the map vault dissolve yet? or will we be able to post pics in the map description by linking them?
Something like that.

Anyway, this isn't a final feature list. Once TWHL3 is up, it'll be much easier to add things than it is to add to some of atom's older and more minimalist code (it's a miracle some of it isn't all on one line for "efficency").

i expect it's been mentioned before, but could you make sure the biography textbox is larger? It's a bitch to edit long ones.

Plus, the text in that box is much bigger than all the others. What's up with that?
Posted 17 years ago2006-10-21 22:42:17 UTC Post #200342
Huh? You mean when it's displayed, or when it's in edit mode?

Edit mode.

It's probably a browser disagreement. Is it fixed-width too, while the rest ain't? You know, same amount of horizontal space for an "l" as an "h"?

Anyway, that's a horrible hacky thing and will be much better in the future.

I'd suggest adding a 'Problem solved' system to the problem maps.
Like when the creator of the problem map manages to fix the problem - there should be a tickbox in the edit map menu, that'd add 'Problem Solved' to the map's name. That'd save some time for the helpers.

Why?
If the map doesn't have a problem anymore it will be removed from the problem vault and possibly posted in an other one (if the creator is finnished with it and wants to release it)

I suggest we have something like that for forums questions, similar to the Snarkpits. That way, we can have tailored searches (i.e. search for answered questions only, etc).

Problem is, lots of people won't mark questions as answered.

Granted, but having the functionality there can't hurt, and it can speed up certain things. The search can be filtered so that answered questions come first, then unanswered ones, with a clear reply count.

Never had that error. Ant, you're using Opera, right?

I use Firefox and I've only had this problem once or twice.

The Remember Me login error comes from logging into another computer/client when you've got the Remember Me thing ticked. It's a weird cookie thing that'll be resolved in TWHL3.

As for it crashing, no idea.

That'll be fixed so that it works on multiple PCs.

The problem with it is that if you login on another PC, the cookie dies. If you stay on the one machine, it should work fine.

Well, closing a session in your browser and reopening will add to your login count, even if you're got "Remember me" ticked.

But yeah, we'll fix that.

Haven't really read every single page on this topic but will there be a pic with random letters and numbers so that when making an account, you have to type that in? Coz that might reduce amount of spam bots...

I got an idea for twhl3.

why not have a button on every start of a thread page which allows you to view all the pictures posted in the thread once clicked. This way we don't have to go through each individual page of a long thread looking for a certain picture. they can all be thumbnailed as well..
What do you guys think?

BTW Congrats goes to Habboi for staring in his first porn episode. ;P

If the thumbnail thing was done, TWHL would have to automatically create a miniature image for every picture posted, and store it somewhere. Seems like a good way to bog down the servers. Plus, since all images are hosted externally, you could end up with a bunch of dead links to the full size images.

The idea sounds alright, but I think it would be a pretty messy thing if it was actually implemented. I'm not sure it would get that much use, either.

I'm wondering though, is this even possible to code? I'd think it would be, but I've never seen it done before.
Posted 16 years ago2007-05-13 23:01:39 UTC Post #221905
I think a more appropriate idea would be to include a button in each post box that prevents user posted images from loading. I don't even see that happening, though.

New colour theme is pretty much spot on, just needs some position tweaking and it'd all look superb.
